SCP Veteran’s Day Blog Hop!

I am so proud to be a part of this blog hop. Veteran’s are the backbone of every country. They give their all so that we can live in peace and freedom. My father served in the Navy during the Korean War, thankfully he was stationed in the Mediterranean and not involved in the actual conflict. My father-in-law served in the Army at the tale end of World War II. He was 16 years old and used a fake ID to join up. So great was his desire to serve.
Most of you who follow the blog know that Beverly is former Navy. So is her husband Ed, and her son, Nick is now a Marine. (and one handsome looking boy in blue!)
Please take a moment to remember all of our veterans. Today and everyday. The fallen and those who live on and continue to serve.

For my prize in this hop I am giving away an e-copy of my new release, hot off the presses, it releases on Veteran’s DAY!

A Special Kind of Love
Through Fights and Fire, Prejudice and Passion, Burns A Special Kind of Love

A Special Kind of Love
A divorced school teacher, estranged from her family, wants to start over. Sharon Daily moves to Gaines, Wyoming with her ten year old autistic son, Aaron. She hoped to find kindness and acceptance in this small town. She wasn’t looking for love…

Tanner West, the Fire Chief of Gaines, seems to have it all. Great job, loving family, and any woman he wants to warm his bed at night. But, Tanner has suffered too. A Native American in a white world, he longs to find love and acceptance. He is ready for more than someone to share his bed. He wants someone to share his life. And Sharon really lights his fire.

Making a life with Sharon will require A Special Kind of Love.

My hero is not a military man. But, a public servant none-the-less. Fire Chief of Gaines, Wyoming. I hope you will enjoy meeting this amazing hero!

I’ve got to add my two cents in too! I’m a proud veteran of this country and my husband is also (as Tamara said!). Both of us served in the US Navy. It was a privilege and a wonderful experience that I will never forget. Even *cough* twenty plus years later I have stayed in touch with my shipmates.

Serving in the military creates a bond that only another service member can share. When you fight live sleep eat and breathe together you will never be the same on your own. As Veterans we tend to come together to make sure that those that follow us will also remember their service time with pride. Many service members have parents that served, but not always. My great grandfather served in WWI as a bugler. My husbands father was in the Army in WWII. Following in the proud tradition is our son who is starting his second enlistment as a US Marine.

Thank you to all who have and are serving our country. Thank you for the blank check you signed for your lives. I hope it is never cashed. Thank you to all the parents, wives, husbands, sisters, brothers and lovers, without your support being deployed would be a much harder and colder place.

*salute*

  2. This is a great thing all of you are doing. It seems respecting our veterans (and our senior citizens) falls by the wayside. Perhaps it’s because so many take their freedoms for granted and sadly lack the knowledge how they got them. So happy Memorial Day and Veterans Day exist. It gives us a moment to pause and give thanks.

  3. Thanks for being a part of the WW blog hop! My husband and I are both veterans, and often when we travel he wears his Desert Storm ball cap. It warms my heart when someone stops to thank him for his service.

  4. Thanks for your service and for participating in this blog hop. By the way, I love military romance, and I do believe that firefighters are heroes, too!

  5. Interesting blog post. Congratulations on the new book! My father was stationed in California during the Korean War. It was the tail end of the conflict, thank God, and he was safe. However, my uncle served in Burma and saw a lot of action during WW 2. My father-in-law served in the American Army during WW 2 and was stationed in Britain. He survived too. Thanks for being part of the blog hop.
