Anthem of the Sea

Out Now—ANTHEM OF THE SEA By Thom Collins (@thomwolf @realthomcollins)

Blurb:

An ocean of possibility. For love, revenge and murder.

Daniel Blake, a handsome young singer, boards the Atlantic Anthem in Portugal for the final voyage of her maiden season. The state-of-the-art ship is the jewel in the Royal Atlantic cruise fleet. For Daniel, a one-time boy band member and TV talent show winner, it’s an honor to perform aboard such a vessel. Daniel loves the freedom and adventure of the sea. He began his solo career as a cruise ship entertainer and returning to the ocean as a headline act brings him full circle. He isn’t looking for love.

Neither is comedian Elijah Mann. Working at sea has given Elijah’s career the boost it desperately needed. Often considered too good-looking and sexy to be funny, work has been hard to come by since his TV show was canceled. With a potential new career opening up, he must remain focused. But when Elijah meets Daniel the attraction is mutual and instant. As the ship sets sail for England they have three days to get to know each other. Elijah can’t let that opportunity pass.

The voyage home is far from smooth. Also on board is a figure from Daniel’s past. A man who’s been holding a grudge for years, waiting for his moment. As a storm builds in the North Atlantic, Daniel and Elijah discover that the trip of a lifetime could be their last.

EXCERPT:

The taxi collected Daniel Blake from the hotel on time. He liked that. Punctuality, efficiency and professionalism—three things he valued in all areas of his career. Be on time and be prepared—that had been his motto since he was fourteen years old. Fifteen years later, he continued to live by it.

He helped the driver load his gear into the trunk. There wasn’t much of it. When on the road, he traveled light with just a medium-sized case, a holdall and a suit carrier. He’d arrived in Lisbon the previous morning, disembarking from a cruise ship, where he’d performed for two nights. His shirts would need washing and his suit pressing before his next show. There was plenty of time.

He gave the driver directions to his designated cruise terminal and climbed onto the back seat. Thankfully, the air conditioning was running. Though it was late October, the outside temperature remained in the mid-eighties and it wasn’t even eleven o’clock. Last night he had heard some of the hotel staff complain about the weather turning cold, but for a boy like him, born and raised in the northeast of England, these climates were well above average. Back home, this would be a hot day in June or July.

It was a short drive to the port. Early in the day, but the streets were busy. Three massive cruise ships were anchored in the harbor, discharging thousands of eager tourists into the city. British, American, German, Japanese, they scurried through the streets, clutching backpacks and maps, keen to explore as much as they could of the historic Portuguese city in the few hours they had here.

Daniel smiled at their faces as they zipped by.

Lisbon, his last stop before home.

The car arrived at the port and within ten minutes Daniel stood beside the gangway with his luggage, waiting for the necessary security calls to be made that would allow him to board the ship. The enormous vessel towered above him, casting a huge shadow across the dock. The Atlantic was one of the biggest and most spectacular cruise ships in the world.

There were a lot of criticisms for super ships such as this. He’d heard them described as floating shopping malls, grotesque monstrosities and budget hotels at sea, but for Daniel there was something quite majestic about the craft and its design, to say nothing of the engineering that went into the construction of such a huge vessel.

“Those things are so top heavy,” a jobbing magician once had told him in a bar. “I hear they roll right over in high seas.”

Daniel had laughed at the man’s ignorance. “And when did you last hear of that happening?”

The man had floundered. “I’m just saying that something so uneven can’t be safe, can it? You won’t ever catch me on one of them things. Mug’s game, isn’t it?”

“It’s your loss,” Daniel had told him cheerily. He felt safer at sea, even in the roughest weather, than he ever had on a plane. Motorways too. It might not be the quickest, but without a doubt it was the most luxurious and extravagant way to travel. He loved being at sea.

Waiting for the security guy to return with his passport, Daniel realized he’d drawn some attention.

A slow stream of passengers was returning to the ship. They couldn’t have seen much of Lisbon, coming back already. Among them was an English family. While the parents lit cigarettes before joining the embarkation queue, the daughter, who looked around fourteen, stared directly at him.

“Hi.” He smiled. “Good day out?”

The girl was plump and pretty with wavy brown hair that fell around her shoulders. She wore a sweet, flowery sundress and red Converse shoes. She blushed as she realized she’d been caught gawking.

“Are you…? Oh, my God, you are, aren’t you? You’re Daniel Blake.”

He raised his hands in mock surrender. “Guilty as charged. Don’t shoot me.”

The girl nervously stepped forward, looking at him with wide, hazel eyes. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m waiting to join the ship. I’m performing on board.”

Her jaw fell. “The Anthem? You’re coming on the Anthem?

He nodded. He didn’t mind being recognized like this. Daniel was famous enough in the UK, but not so much that it ever became an inconvenience. His fame came from a TV talent show. The public had made him and he appreciated all the support he got.

“Oh my God.” The girl’s face became highly animated. “Mam! Dad! Come here. Oh my God, you won’t believe it. Daniel Blake. It’s actually him.”

Her bemused parents stubbed out their cigarettes and came over. They were an attractive-looking couple of around forty. The girl looked a lot like her father.

“I hope she’s not bothering you,” the dad said, looking cautiously between Daniel and his daughter.

“Not a bit,” Daniel assured him. “It’s a pleasure.”

“Daniel is going to be singing on the ship. Can you believe it? How cool is that?” She grinned a mile wide.

“Starting tomorrow,” he said. “Make certain you get yourselves a great seat down front. I can use all the support I can get.”

“I will, I will. I voted for you every week on The One. You were my favorite from the start.”

“So it’s you I need to thank for winning. What’s your name, sweetie?”

“Julieann.”

“Well, thank you, Julieann. Your votes changed my life.”

The girl blushed violently.

The security officer came back to escort Daniel onto the ship. Before boarding, he posed for photographs with Julieann and her family.

“The girls at school will have a fit when they see these on Instagram,” Julieann said proudly as they took a selfie together.

“See you at the shows,” Daniel said as he walked on board. “And don’t forget—front row. Be there. I’ll look out for you.”

“We’ll definitely be there.”

Once on board, he passed his luggage through the security scanner and was equipped with his sea pass ID, the plastic card that would enable him to move around the ship, access his accommodation and run a tab in the bars and shops. He was greeted on the far side of security by a young woman in a blue shirt and khaki shorts. Her soft blonde hair was tied back from her round, attractive face. She was vaguely familiar from his engagement earlier in the season. He checked her name badge to refresh his memory. Belle Hodges, entertainment crew, from South Australia.

“Hi,” Belle said cheerily. “It’s wonderful to have you back on board.”

She extended her hand and he shook it. “It’s great to be back. Honestly, I’ve been looking forward to this since I left in May. How has your maiden season gone?”

“Over too quickly and totally ace. I can’t believe it’s been that long since you were here. Yikes, the time has flown. Let me give you a hand with your stuff.”

“That’s okay. I can manage. Just point me in the right direction and I’ll find my way.”

Ignoring his protests, Belle took up the suit carrier.

“You’re in real luck,” she said. “You’ve been allocated a large stateroom on one of the passenger decks. Balcony and all.”

“You’re joking? Wow. Am I sharing with the house band or a football team?”

Belle giggled, wrinkling her nose. “Silly. You’ve got the whole place to yourself.”

“Seriously? What gives? I never get accommodation like that.”

Belle looked around cautiously and lowered her voice. “We had a family thrown off the ship in Gran Canaria so you’ve got their room. They caused a fight in the martini bar and punched an officer who tried to intervene. Captain Rassimov put them off at the next port. No second chances.”

“Good to know we’re in such firm hands.”

“Captain Rassimov is the best,” Belle gushed.

Daniel didn’t doubt it. He’d met the dashing captain on his last trip. Tall, dark, handsome and extremely charismatic, he sent hearts beating fast among the passengers and crew. If he wasn’t so straight, Daniel would fancy him too. Rassimov was the perfect man to master such a grand vessel.

Launched in May, with a rumored cost of over one-point-five billion, the Atlantic Anthem was coming to the end of its inaugural European season. It was the newest and biggest vessel in the Royal Atlantic fleet. Daniel had spent two nights on board when he’d performed a headline set on the maiden voyage. He’d worked for cruise companies all over the world, but he couldn’t fail to be impressed by the Anthem. It was billed as the ship with everything. From his own experience that was certainly true.

As he walked through the decks with Belle, his sense of excitement increased. The interior was truly splendid. Not a penny had been spared, from the lush carpets to the paintings and sculptures that graced every deck. Before coming on board, he’d read all the specs—about the spa and fitness center, two swimming pools and a solarium, the Royal Theater with nine-hundred-sixty seats, the bars—eight of them across the ship—the main dining room plus three specialty restaurants and a twenty-four-hour café. Several public entertainment areas were situated on Decks Four and Five around a jaw-dropping central staircase. Knowing all of that in advance, he still had been blown away when he’d came upon the ship for the first time. And he felt it now, all over again.

Only the most jaded, spoiled and hard-to-please traveler could fail to be inspired by the Anthem.

They rode one of the glass elevators to the tenth floor where Belle led him down a long corridor to his stateroom in the forward section of the ship.

“Last time, I had an interior cabin in the crew quarters.” He laughed.

“Yep, that’s where they like to cram us in. But now you’ve got this.”

Daniel swiped his sea pass card to enter the room. A major step up from crew class, the room was bright and contemporary, to the standard of any good hotel. He had an enormous double bed all to himself and a sitting area with a long, cream leather sofa. There was a dressing table, minibar, TV, private bathroom and balcony.

“I hope I don’t get lost in here,” he joked, dumping his luggage by the wardrobe.

“As long as you’re on stage for your shows tomorrow night, no one will mind what you get up to in here,” Belle said.

“You can put your mind at ease on that count,” he said. “I’ve been performing since I was fourteen and I’ve never missed a show in my life.”

Belle left him to settle in. Daniel unpacked his clothes first and filled a plastic bag with stuff that needed washing immediately—shirts, socks and underwear. Another great thing about working on a luxury cruise liner—everything was to hand. If he left the bag out today, all the items would be washed, ironed and returned by tomorrow.

He went into the bathroom next, laying out his razor, toothbrush and skincare products. He brought everything with him when he traveled. Though he wasn’t particularly vain, it was important to look good in public.

He didn’t have to worry. At twenty-nine years old—five months shy of thirty—he was in prime condition. He’d never looked better. For years he used to hate the way he looked. Everything about him had been out of proportion, especially his face. Eyes, teeth, nose, chin, they were always too big. But throughout his twenties, the rest of his body had caught up. He’d filled out and gained muscle and his face, which had seemed so awkward in his teens, had developed an extraordinary handsomeness. He had a strong jaw with a cowboy cleft, while his mouth was wide and masculine. With sky-blue eyes and thick brown hair, he had become a good-looking man. Very good-looking.

His confidence hadn’t grown to match his looks. A part of him would always be that skinny, peculiar kid. But only he could see it.

Finally unpacked, he relaxed and walked onto the balcony. He had a great view of the city and the people below, streaming like ants around the port terminals. Daniel took a moment to enjoy it all. He loved just about every part of the cruise experience.

Every ship, every voyage, was a new adventure.

The Atlantic Anthem promised a greater adventure than any other.

He couldn’t wait to get started.

Sexy Snippets & Excerpts

Testimony by Maggie Ryan

“Miss Fields, you’ve been found guilty. Sentencing is over and it’s time to pay the piper.”

“Objection!” Mia squealed again when he stood, sat on the wide rim of the tub and flipped her over his knees.

“Overruled,” Damian said, slapping her left buttock.

“Ow! That hurts!” Mia cried, her hand flying back to rub her abused cheek, a bit shocked at exactly how much a simple swat could sting.

“It’s supposed to hurt,” Damian said calmly, easily avoiding her hand to add a second swat to her right cheek. “Consider it as a form of rehabilitation.”

“Wait! This is cruel and unusual punishment!”

“No, babe, cruel would have been if you’d died in that explosion. And I would have been the one punished for the rest of my life if I’d lost you.”

Mia turned her head to him, the look in his eyes causing her heart to hitch. He was right. This all could have been avoided if she’d only obeyed him. Sliding her hand from her bottom, she nodded, accepting his right to carry out the sentence. Her acquiesce didn’t make the spanking easier to take. His hand was huge and hard, but for some reason she couldn’t explain, it just felt right.

The Mercenary’s Girl by Emily Tilton

Tess hoped for one wild moment that Jack would do something. Ever since he had said the strange thing about having to make it hurt, as, trembling, she felt her panties taken down for a public whipping, Tess hadn’t been able to escape the feeling that he understood her terrible dilemma more deeply than she did herself. Now, desperately, she looked at him, filled with the certainty that he must stop this awful thing that seemed to make a mockery of Tess’ confusion and conflict, her struggle against the dark force of her relationship with Jeffrey.

Three weeks ago, when Tess had heard Jack say that he had to whip her hard, her newly-exposed pussy had clenched, and she had felt the wetness flow so urgently that her face blazed like the sun, but she had had not the faintest idea why. When he had told her to take hold of the opposite edge of the table, and begun to bring his belt down, it had felt so different from when Jeffrey had spanked her or whipped her. Something in his voice, something in the hand he laid on the small of her back, controlling her, seemed to say that while Jeffrey punished her only to take out his aggression and for an erotic thrill, Jack had something different in mind.

I have to make it hurt. That was what he had said. He had seemed to mean that he knew the necessity of complying with Jeffrey’s command that Tess be thoroughly punished for speaking out of turn. But she had never been able to rid herself of the feeling that Jack had really meant something else. She couldn’t push that feeling away even now, when he had gone to get the toy-box that held the vibrating dildo with which Jeffrey brought the girls to orgasm after disciplining them but whose other contents Tess had never known. She kept thinking, despite everything, He loves me.

“Tess, darling,” Jeffrey said in the cultured voice that always conveyed more menace than she thought the roughest lower-class accent from the London docks might have done, “take off your dress.”

Slave for a Day: An Idan a Svali Novella by Jane Henry

“My lord, the men of the inner sanctum are not…nice men,” he says.

I clench my jaw and nod. I have already surmised as much. “Yes, of course,” I say.

“If they detect that you are treating her with kindness, they will suspect you–”

“I understand,” I interrupt. Svali’s eyes widen. I pull the chain that binds her to me and bring her ear to my mouth. “I may take you beyond where you are comfortable, lovely,” I whisper. “But I promise you two things. First, that I will do whatever I can be ensure you like it. And second, that you can always trust me.”

The Rangers Shotgun Bride by Maddie Taylor

His boot heels rang out across the wood floor as he approached. She watched as he pulled off his hat, and dropped it on one of the benches, his actions contradicting his comment that he had to go. Before she could ask if something was wrong, he slid her book from her fingers, set it aside, and with both hands clasping hers, tugged her to her feet.

They stood close. He was so tall—an attribute she liked about him, a lot—she had to angle her head back to look up at him. Just as she did, he bent toward her, his large palms warmly bracketing her face, and much to her surprise and great delight, he kissed her.

Soft, at first, when she moved a step closer, welcoming his advance, one arm slid around her waist, hauling her up against him as he deepened the kiss. As he pressed her close, their bodies melded together, supple and curved to hard and well-muscled, just like in all her daydreams. Breathless immediately, she became more so when his tongue slipped inside her mouth. It searched out every nook and cranny, the intimacy robbing her of rational thought and making her legs limp as noodles. Her fingers dug into his shoulders, clinging to him to keep from slithering as though boneless to the floor when he lifted his lips moments later.

“Amelia, darlin’.” His husky voice rumbling low in the chest pressed hard to her breasts made them tingle more than they already were. “We’ve grown close these past few months. I want you to remember how you feel at this exact moment.”

“How could I forget?” she asked dreamily, seeing that it was the best moment of her life.

“I’m gonna hold you to that.”

Her Protector by Annabel Joseph

He was dancing on her last nerve, and she wasn’t in the mood for a cha-cha, not after all that had happened. “Don’t come at me with your authoritative, angsty government-agent posturing.” She looked around their claustrophobic cabin. “I’m not in the mindset to put up with it.”

Far from being deflated by her scathing warning, he leaned in on bulging arms and pinned her with his gaze. “Sorry to be so authoritative, Cracky, but I’m in charge of your safety.”

“Did you just call me Cracky?”

“Until we get the all-clear from the DOD, you’re under my protection.”

“I didn’t ask for your fucking protection!”

His blue eyes darkened as he frowned. “I asked you not to use coarse language, Miss Park. Here are the rules of our sojourn together, which you will follow whether you like it or not.”

As she spluttered in irritation, he leaned an elbow on the table and ticked off each order on his fingers. “Number one, we respect each other. That’s non-negotiable. Number two, no leaving this cabin, not for any reason. Number three, no contact with the outside world. You can’t leave any physical or digital footprint that might be traced.”

“But my friends, my parents, when they can’t reach me—”

“We’ve left an outgoing message on your voicemail and email, letting everyone know that you’ve taken an impromptu cruise to the Bahamas. Wyckoff’s watching your apartment and picking up your mail. If anyone gets suspicious, the security division will take care of it. They know how to make it look like people aren’t missing.”

“This is bullshit. All of this is utter, freaking craziness.”

He sighed. “Language. This is your third warning.”

“My third warning?” She snorted. “I know you’re old, but you’re not my dad. You can’t tell me what to do.”

“I can, to an extent. I’m your commanding officer right now, and I make the rules.”

“What if I don’t follow your rules?” Rowan sassed, not quite recklessly enough to add an expletive. “What happens then? A court martial?”

She could see, visually see, some last tendon of patience snap behind his patrician regard. “If you keep pushing me, you’re going to end up over my lap, getting taught some manners for both our sakes. And it won’t be one of those fun spankings you perv on your phone in the break room. It’ll be the kind that makes you wish for a court martial instead…”

Cherry on Top by Katherine Deane

“Did you just spank me?”

The grin in her eyes told him it wasn’t an accident. “I wanted to see what you would do.” “Here’s what I’d do.”

He moved quickly and flipped her over onto her tummy and yanked her up onto her knees as she squealed. Crack! He brought his hand down onto her plump ass cheeks, loving the sound it made as it echoed through the room. Three more times, he spanked her hard while she let out a sound that was a combination of a yelp and a laugh. “More, little girl?”

The Honey Trap by Lucy Wild

“Yes, Sir,” I said, the words coming out without me thinking about them. I did as he asked, leaning over a wooden table that was in the middle of the room, pointing my ass towards him. It should have been too much, too fast. I’d turned up to work behind a bar and now I was bent over far enough for my skirt to ride up the back of my thighs. But it didn’t feel like that. I was too swept up in the excitement of the moment to think about things properly. Maybe if I had, I would have hesitated. But I didn’t.

He walked up behind me and before I had chance to brace myself, his hand slapped down on my ass. I let out a yelp of pain, the stinging heat still spreading through my buttocks when his hand slapped down again. “You’re mine,” he snarled. “And I want you to know what it’s like to be owned by me.” Another smack, this time lower, nearer to the back of my thighs. “To be marked by me.”

The Strategy of Love by Alyssa Bailey

Kayla loved the play. The little taps were stingy but not uncomfortable. She loved the way it made her pink bits twitch and her breasts tingle. She watched him roll her over and felt him lay three substantial swats to her right cheek, and her juices flowed.

“Mmm, do it again.” She looked over at him.

Hunter raised his right eyebrow and hummed. “My baby likes a little slap and tickle, huh?”

“Please,” she begged.

He rolled her to slap the other cheek. “Now open so I can see how wet you are for me.”

This time she spread them wide. The heat from those few smacks made her warm all over. She’d always known she was intrigued by spanking, but no one had ever spanked her before. She’d been a good kid, but she could learn how to be naughty in the bedroom if she could get these types of results. Kayla lifted her pelvis to help him find her treasures and yelped at the slap on her pussy. She grunted her surprise.

“I’m the boss in here, Kayla. I’ll decide what you need. And I think what you need now is me.”

Kayla watched as Hunter took one hardened nipple into his mouth and sucked with ever increasing strength as he made her writhe with flames of passion. He loved the other breast equally before kissing down her belly. Kayla felt him nip at her labia before peeling back her lower lips to expose the slippery center. She felt herself panic.

Her very experienced girlfriend in college once told her, “Men don’t really like to taste women, Kayla, didn’t anyone ever tell you before?”

“Don’t… I mean, I don’t expect you to.”

He stopped, poised above her most intimate area. “Good to know, but are you saying you don’t like it, or you don’t think I’ll like it?”

“I don’t know if I’ll like it because…” she shrugged her shoulders slightly, “… well, I know guys don’t like it.”

“Sweetheart, I don’t know who told you that, but it’s a lie. Men love it. This man loves it.”

“Oh.” He resumed his task. “Mmm, that feels so nice.”

Justice, Roughly by Amelia Smarts

He was glaring at her, his eyes flashing with anger and his lips set in a firm line. A tick in his jaw indicated he was gritting his teeth, and the scar that tracked his face seemed especially pronounced. She’d never seen a man looking as fierce as Wyatt appeared in that moment. She found it hard to believe he was the same gentle, soft-spoken man she’d gotten to know.

Her heart continued to pound, now anxious over Wyatt’s obvious displeasure. She wasn’t sure what had angered him until he spoke. He strode the few steps to her and grasped her arm. “You have a death wish, woman?” When she didn’t respond, he asked, “What were you thinking, drawing your gun on a man having words with me? He could have killed you!”

“I, I wanted to protect you,” she stammered, trying to wrench her arm free, to no avail. His grip wasn’t tight enough to inflict anything worse than discomfort, but it was unyielding.

“I don’t need you to protect me, Elsie,” he bellowed. “I don’t need any woman coming in the middle of my argument with another man, putting herself in danger on my behalf.” He gave her a shake. “You listening to me, woman?”

She’d never seen this severe, chastising side to Wyatt, and she felt desperate for him to understand her motivation. “But it’s not your fight, it’s mine. And you’re injured! I didn’t want him to hurt you.”

“I would much prefer for me to lose a fistfight than for you to lose a gunfight… or win one, for that matter, and end up in prison!” He walked with purpose toward the front of the barn, hauling her along with him.

“What are you doing?” she squeaked, though she had a strong suspicion of his intention when he dragged her in the direction of the bench.

He sat down and hauled her over his knee, then wrapped his other leg over hers, pinning her in place. His left hand fell in such a hard swat on her clothed bottom that she gasped and arched upward.

“Teaching you a lesson about safety,” he growled. He grasped the waist of her trousers and tugged them down, while she squirmed helplessly between his legs pinning her in place.

She felt mortified when the cool morning air wafted over her bare bottom. Before when he’d spanked her, she’d felt some measure of control. Now she felt like a bad little girl, helpless to prevent her punishment, especially when he proceeded with giving her naked backside a proper, no-nonsense tanning. Sharp swats peppered her bottom and the tops of her thighs, causing such a sting that tears flooded her eyes nearly immediately.

Saving Sarah by BJ Wane

The front legs of Travis’s tilted back chair hit the floor with a resounding thud the minute he spotted Sarah Thompson entering The Raging Bull. His Sarah. Narrowing his eyes, he took in the new hairstyle and sexy as sin clothes and swore under his breath. Just what the hell was she up to? Seated at a back, corner table in order to better observe the patrons without notice, he watched her skip onto the dance floor, surprised at the rapid surge of possessiveness strangling him. He’d been attracted to the cute baker for weeks, enjoyed giving her a hard time and fantasized about getting that soft, round body under him. It took seeing her smiling at other men, lapping up being in their arms to consider moving faster in his pursuit.

There were three men he’d spotted during the last two hours of undercover surveillance whom he thought bore watching closer. One of them just cut in with Sarah and brought him to his feet. Striding toward them, he caught the subtle shift of the man’s hands toward her ass and her quick scowl, the one his cock always responded to. With a tap on the man’s shoulder, Travis ignored his glare and shouldered him aside.

“My turn.” Before Sarah could blurt out and call him Chief, he swooped down and covered her startled gasp with his mouth, pulling her up against him just as the band switched to a slow ballad.

She stiffened at first, then melted against him, her low moan filling his mouth, her swift surrender taking him by surprise. It took a sharp nip to her plump, lower lip, to encourage her to open. Delving in, he explored the warm recesses of her mouth with teasing strokes and felt her immediate response in the hardening of her nipples against his chest. Who would’ve known his prim and proper baker possessed such a sensuous streak?

Releasing that responsive mouth with reluctance, he whispered above her damp lips, “Don’t call me Chief. I’ll explain later. What the hell are you doing here, Sarah?”

The Scarlet Stiletto by Maggie Carpenter

He’d just laid his trousers over the chair against the wall when he heard a gentle knock. Realizing he was still wearing his socks, he half-hopped-half-walked across the room as he pulled them off. A woman had once told him, a man in his socks and boxers was about the most unattractive thing she could imagine. Boxers and an undershirt could be sexy, but not boxers and socks. Slightly out of breath, and determined he would not be sharing Ruby’s bed, he opened the door.

“Hi,” she said softly, gazing at him, her blue eyes inviting more than a perfunctory response.

He could feel his resolve melting away. Standing before him was a Goddess cloaked in shimmering pink. The thin silky satin nightgown floating around her body highlighted every curve, her nipples were pressing urgently against the flimsy fabric, then his eyes fell to her lips, her unbelievably lusciously kissable lips.

“I want you,” she whispered, closing the foot of space between them and circling her arms around his neck. “I don’t care about what’s right or wrong, I don’t care about tomorrow morning, I don’t care about morals or virtues or any of that. I want you, I need you, and if you think badly of me, so be it. Please, Patrick, please make love to me.”

The embers burning inside him flared into a white hot flame, and swooping her up he carried her to the bed, laid her down, and resting his weight on top of her, he dropped his lips on hers. He kissed her holding nothing back, exposing his hungry need as he crushed her lips, praying she would know his fervent desire for her was based on more than just lust, and when he finally broke away, his heart was pounding, his cock was standing at full attention, and he was completely breathless. Raising his gaze he found her panting as he was, her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes half-lidded. For a moment he thought she was about to speak, but she didn’t, instead moaning her pleasure and raising her chest, silently begging his lips to visit her breasts.

He wanted to slow things down, but his burning fever had taken control, and as he traveled his mouth to her cleavage, his hands moved to the thin spaghetti straps resting on her shoulders. Sliding them down, exposing her luscious mounds, he dove his mouth from one nipple to the next, hungrily sucking as he listened to her utterances of joy, then hastily sliding off her gown and tossing it aside, he pushed his fingers into her naked sex. She cried out and wriggled against his touch, and as he thrust his finger into her soaked strait, he heard himself groan. Rising up he tore off his undershirt and boxers, then laying back on top of her, he pushed her legs apart with his own, and rested his cock against her sex.

A Thief for the Duke by Megan Michaels

But then it begged the question. How did Miss Henrietta become a street urchin, begging and stealing to eat? Did she have a family? These were questions he’d find answers to, unraveling the mystery of one Miss Henrietta Leticia Beaumont.

“Stop tugging at that damnable dress before you tatter it more than it already is, and look at me when I’m speaking, girl.”

“Must you always be so gruff? I’ve done nothing to incur this attitude.” Her eyes narrowed, her lips thinning. The pert tilt of her chin made him want to pinch it between his thumb and forefinger, kissing her plump, red lips—hard.

“Well, your situation says otherwise, my dear. You actually did do something to invite both attitude and correction. First, you stole. This is both a breaking of not only the public law but also the moral code of ethics. Second, your impertinent, sassy mouth has caused you to sit on what I’m assuming is a still very sore little bottom. If I’m wrong about this, and I’ll know in a jiffy by your continued bratty behavior, I’ll rectify the matter straight away. But this time, Miss Ettie, I assure you there will be nothing between your arse and my hand.”

Even though it was only infinitesimally, her eyes widened before she quickly righted them again. And damn if Charles didn’t love it, she tilted her chin up again, this time a little higher, sniffing loudly through her nose, refusing to respond.

Charles loved a good game of chess or the clash of swords, and it appeared he’d found someone to duel with. “I tally two cheeky responses, girl. Once we hit four, your recompense will commence. You’ve been warned.”

She shifted on the seat, and he assumed her backside was more than likely goose bumped with dread, and he delighted in the thought. His penis stirred at the immediate visualization of her upended, her rosy bare bottom jiggling and her cunny pressed against him. And almost simultaneously, his hand involuntarily twitched, aching to bring the fantasy to life.

“I think we should talk about the school and some of the expectations, as well as what the Magistrate has ordered for your stay, which is minimal, I may add.”

The Officer’s Little Girl by Meredith O’Reilly

With a firm grasp of her, I moved to the side and fastened with the provided cuff and strap to one corner of the bed. I made quick work of doing the same to the other foot leaving her legs spread wide and the lovely curls she’d teased me with on full display. Proceeding to the top of the bed, I quickly restrained her wrists as well. When she was spread eagle, I took a step back and enjoyed the view.

“Adam,” Chloe whined, wiggling around as she tested her restraints. I hadn’t made them so tight that she wouldn’t be able to move. I didn’t want her to injure herself.

“Quiet,” I commanded, snapping the flogger against her stomach. It was lightweight, made of soft deerskin, and perfect for beginners. I knew it wouldn’t cause her pain, but instead bring attention to the area. I flicked again, slightly lower. “When you came to this resort, you agreed that I would be the dominant. As such, I’m the one who decides what we do and when we’ll do it. Trying to tease, and manipulate me into doing what you want to do is known as topping from the bottom. This is unacceptable, and will result in a punishment for you. Am I clear?”

“Yes, Sir,” she answered, her reply coming out in a breathy whisper. She looked up at me with wide eyes, her pupils beginning to dilate. My naughty girl was turned on with me firmly in control…excellent.

As a reward, I gave her pussy a couple of thwacks and watched with delight as her back bowed off the bed. For now, I enjoyed her uninhibited reaction. In the future, however, I’d want her to stay still; it would enhance her pleasure.

“We’re going to do a bit of practicing,” I announced. There was no time like the present to start her training. “You’ll get my lash on various parts of your body. Your tits,” I landed a light stroke there, “your thighs.” She received another well-place swat, “and all points in between. I want you to stay still. For every move you make, you’ll earn another stroke and double the time I make you wait for an orgasm. Understand?”

“How long must I wait?”

“Sir”

“How long, Sir?”

“That’s for me to decide, isn’t it?”

A Taste for Red by Piper Stone

“All right, asshole. Let’s see what you have.” Shanna Jacobs shoved the Glock in the pocket of her jacket, threw her leg over the Harley and buckled her helmet. She kicked the stand into the up position and revved the engine. Mr. Jerkoff thought he could get away. Well, he had another thing coming. She eased the bike out from the alley and waited, watching as he slid into the Corvette. He had no idea she was on his tail. The elusive Stoker Wilde, the perp she’d been following for a solid week, didn’t have his entourage with him. Mistake. Bad mistake.

Chuckling, she idled as he started the engine, then she rolled out to the curb. No matter where he went, she would follow.

He roared out of the parking lot, flooring the engine within seconds. She hunkered down and followed closely behind, weaving her way through the darkened city streets. How many nights had she staked out the man who her client believed was responsible for at least two deaths? How many times had he alluded her? Too many. Not tonight. She’d learned all about his weaknesses for wine and women. On this sizzling summer evening, she’d take him down singlehandedly.

Stoker picked up speed, running several red lights as he made his way out of the city. She knew his destination, had learned everything about a man believing himself to be the King. As wind whipped through her hair, she lowered her body toward the handlebars. She had one last chance to catch Stoker in illegal activities before her client walked, securing another investigator. That shit wasn’t going to happen on her watch. She was the best at what she did.

Accelerating out of the city limits he picked up speed, racing past the last of the titty bars and massage parlors, his bread and butter in criminal activity. All she had to do to complete the lucrative assignment was confirm his relationship with the most powerful man in the city. Pictures were worth a thousand words and in her case, ten thousand dollars, money she desperately needed. The prize was worth the danger.

Shanna was careful, remaining behind two cars and a van. After losing him for a few seconds, she craned her neck as he made a sharp turn. No way you’re getting away from me. Ten seconds later she made the same turn and gasped. Flashing blue lights blinded her and she skidded, the bike shifting in a perpendicular manner. She noticed the Bronco crisscrossing the road just seconds before she slammed on her breaks. Where the hell did Stoker go? “Fuck!”

Wham!

Stars floated in front of her eyes as she rolled across the pavement. She was cognizant enough to hear her beloved Harley crash into an immovable object, the crunch matching her high-pitched scream. The mother fucker had figured out he was being tailed. Then what were the blue lights about? She landed with a hard thud. Every muscle ached like a son of a bitch. There was no way she could pass out. She’d never be seen again. Struggling to move, she managed to turn over, and dug her fingers into the dirt as she opened her eyes. She could vaguely make out a set of cowboy boots and long legs closing the distance.

“Well, well. What do we have here?”

The flashlight beam cut her vision to scattered streams of light. Shanna groaned as she pushed up from the ground. Woozy, she blinked, trying to focus and was unable to see any details of his face. “What in the hell are you doing?”

“I should ask you the same question. You’re lucky to be alive.”

Revenge Served Hot by Sophie Kisker

“Sir? If I promise to obey you in every way, will you keep me safe from him?”

He took a step back, then turned away from me. I risked a glance up. His fists were clenched tight, and when I looked at the side of his face, I saw the vein that always popped out when he was stressed or upset. My question had gotten to him.

“Are you sure you’d be safer with me than with him?”

I took a moment to answer. “Yes. I am.”

He let out a breath and turned back to me.

“I’m not the man you thought you knew. I am not a nice man. I won’t promise to be fair. I will punish you sometimes just because I enjoy hearing you cry. There won’t be any safe words. And forget about any tenderness.”

My mind flashed back to my dreams. “But I’ll be alive.”

He drew in a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Yes.”

A weight that I didn’t realize I was holding slid off me. I had a protector on my side. Now I had to hold up my end of the deal.

The Arms I Run To by Stevie MacFarlane

J.R. watched her. God she was beautiful and oh so foolish. She was taunting him, angry because he knew all her secrets. Still, it was not necessary to put herself in any more danger than she already had. Then he did something he never did, something completely against the rules. He keyed his mic, flipped a switch that connected him to her office and only her office.

“Put is out, Miss Bradley,” he said in warning. “Smoking is bad for you.”

She laughed; a bitter sound that rubbed against his nerves like sandpaper.

“This whole place is bad for me,” she snorted indelicately. “Don’t act like you don’t know what’s going on here,” she jeered. “You’re all nothing but a pack of miserable lap dogs, spying for your master. Fuck you…whatever your name is.” Her voice trailed off as she turned away.

She heard the faint hum stop and knew he’d disconnected. Bastard! Walking to the bathroom she tossed the butt of her smoke into the toilet and flushed it away. Unfortunately the jerk was right.

Monster by Jennifer Bene

“Open your mouth.” José nudged the metal of the gun under my chin, lifting until I was looking up at him. His lips twitched and then he slapped me, the blunt, stinging force of it sending me to the floor as pain bloomed across my cheek, aching.

“Please, I just want to leave. You can keep the money, you can —”

“We can do whatever we want.” José slapped me hard again, and I crumpled against the gritty concrete, cried out, pleaded nonsense words as Diego dragged me up by my hair again, ponytail gone — and for some fucked up reason that was what my brain focused on.

Even as the tears streaked my cheeks, and he ripped my head back harder and the pain spread, I wondered where the little hair band had gone. Like it’s going to fucking matter once Paulo says they can have you.

I whimpered as the reality set in, as my hopeless stupidity settled over me, and then José tapped my lips with the gun. “Open.”

This time I listened, and before there was even enough room he pushed it in, scraping my teeth until I widened enough for it not to clatter against them. I wasn’t strong anymore, couldn’t fight while kneeling between them with a fucking gun in my mouth. No, I was losing it. I was crying, hot tears fighting the chill on my skin even though it was over ninety outside. Outside of this hellhole, where no one knew where I fucking was.

They’re going to kill you when they’re done.

“That’s nice, looks good. Real pretty. You like the taste of my gun?” José smiled above me, rubbing the bitter weapon back and forth over my tongue, just at the height of his hips. “Answer me.”

Oouhh!” I tried to say no, but it was hard to enunciate with the thick, black metal pressing deeper into my mouth. He shoved it forward then, gagging me, but Diego jerked my head back into place when I flinched and I caught his eyes. Hungry, merciless, and the grin told me just how much he was enjoying this.

Excerpt

“Jenna.” Gordon lurched forward as his wife crumpled in a heap on the floor, that stupid table he’d made for her landing next to her. “Jenna!” Damn, Grey was right. He should never have come back, especially not like this. Dropping to his knees at her side, he continued to call her name. He sat cross-legged and lifted her over his lap, stroking her satin cheek. She hadn’t changed much, except maybe lost a few pounds. More than a few. The pictures Grey’s contact had sent had not done justice to her weight loss. Damn. “My poor baby. What did I do to you?”

All his decisions had made sense until this moment when he held her pale, limp form. Now, nothing did. He’d left to protect her and returned for the same reason, but maybe it would have been better to take her somewhere far away to start with. How could he have asked her to live underground somewhere, far from her beloved inn and all her friends, and both of their families? Not to mention the threat had international roots and could follow them almost anywhere. No, the only way he’d been able to guarantee her safety was to be “dead.”

Even most of The Omega Team did not know that Timothy Baker who had worked from home doing computer research, thinly veiled hacking, and developing some new software for the past two years was Gordon MacKay. Everything in his HR file masked his real identity, his past, and his current location. They’d planned to keep it like that permanently, until the current crisis arose.

He had one chance to fix things, to make it right and eliminate the threat once again rearing its ugly head. This time, it menaced more than him. More than the two of them. This time, the ugliness hovered over everyone in Cedar Valley. The entire MacKay clan gathered for the weddings of two of Fire Chief Mac MacKay’s grandchildren, unaware of the danger swirling around them. His family and oldest friends’ lives were in danger

Changing Perspectives ~ Omega Team Kindle World ~ Tamara Hoffa

Blurb Changing Perspectives:

Angelina Montgomery’s biggest worries were graduating her Master’s degree program and finding time for a social life. The voluptuous brunette crooned sweet love songs to the crowds of the Cowboy Saloon every weekend, but hadn’t been on a date in almost a year. When flowers and gifts started arriving at her door from a secret admirer she was initially flattered. But when her car was broken into that inclination changed to fear.

Retired Army Ranger Luiz Hernandez was one of Omega Team’s top agents. His Cuban heritage and scared visage made him the perfect man to infiltrate South American drug cartels. So why the hell were Grey and Athena sending him to babysit a co-ed with a stalker? He didn’t want the assignment, but he would do his duty.

That duty changed when he set eyes on Angelina, and he had a new mission…capture her heart.

Nothing would stand in the way of a Ranger and his goal. Not age, emotional baggage, and certainly not a mad man hiding in the shadows.

Excerpt:

Another knock at the door. Ask and ye shall receive, she thought. She checked the peep hole again and almost fell over. Outside her door stood Braveheart and Antonio Banderas. Holy hell! The one guy had to be six-foot-six with flaming red hair and looked like a brick wall of muscles. The other one was shorter, maybe five-ten or six-foot, his hair shaved on the side and the top pulled back into a sexy pony-tail, his eyes covered in mirrored aviator glasses. Dark, brooding, sexy as hell. Oh, damn! These two hotties were going to be shadowing her 24/7 for god knew how long. She was in trouble with a capital T.

“Miss Montgomery? Are you there?” Braveheart asked.

Shit. She hadn’t opened the door.

“We’re from Omega Team,” he continued.

Angelina flipped the deadbolt and let them in. “Sorry, I was a little shocked when I looked through the peephole,” she stammered. “You’re a bit…large,” she added.

Braveheart laughed. “No worries, it’s good to be cautious. I’m Duncan Flynn,” he said extending his hand. “And this is Luiz Hernandez.” He indicated his partner.

Angelina’s small hand was swallowed up in his, but she shook it firmly, as her dad had taught her.

“Welcome. Come on in. I’ve got coffee made if you’d like some.”

“Sounds great,” Duncan said with a smile. He seemed like a nice man. Luiz had yet to say a word. Angelina headed to the kitchen with the two men following. As she pulled mugs from the cabinet the dark man finally spoke.

“What’s this?” he asked, pointing to the chocolates on the counter. Angelina turned around and put her hands on her hips.

“Another delivery. It came just before you two arrived. There’s a note with it. I didn’t touch it. The delivery man didn’t know if the person who sent it wrote it or if the florist did. I got the number of the florist so we could call and ask.” She picked up the card off the counter and handed it to Luiz.

“I’ll give the number to Jacqui and have her call. She’s better at dealing with people than me.” He growled, pulling the cell phone off his belt and turning toward the door. “I’ll get the print kit out of the car.” He tossed over his shoulder as he marched off.

The front door slammed behind him and Angelina muttered, “Did he get up on the wrong side of the bed or what?”

“Sorry about that,” Duncan said, with a smile. “Luiz is a bit cranky this morning. He’s a good guy, though. I promise. Good at his job.”

“Yeah, well, I’m a bit cranky too, ya know. I’m the one with the creepy stalker.”

Duncan walked over and laid a hand on her shoulder. “I know. Again, I apologize. This isn’t Luiz’s usual gig. He isn’t used to dealing with ‘normal’ people. He usually deals with drug dealers and lowlifes.”

“Oh great. Well, at least I’m a step up.” She laughed. “I hope anyway.”

“Definitely,” Duncan answered.

Luiz came back in the house carrying a small bag. He placed it on the counter next to the box of chocolates and proceeded to pull out print dust, rubber gloves and something that looked like the brush she used to apply her face powder. Angelina watched in fascination as he applied the powder to the box and envelope, then transferred the viable prints to little cards with tape.

“That’s really cool.” She looked at him curiously, “But you know it’s not that bright in here. Couldn’t you see better if you took your glasses off? Or are they prescription?”

Luiz scowled at her. “I can see just fine.”

“Are they prescription glasses? Do you need them to see?”

“No.”

“Then why are you wearing them inside?”

Another scowl. “I have my reasons.”

Angelina shrugged her shoulders. “You are a strange man, Luiz. You know that?”

“So I’ve been told.”

“Now that you have the prints, what will you do with them?”

“I’ll e-mail them to Jacqui, our computer expert, and she’ll run them through the system. See if we get any hits.”

“You have access to criminal data bases? Like the police?”

“Athena and Jacqui are both former Tampa PD, they still have connections.”

“Who are Athena and Jacqui?”

“Athena is one of the owners of the company. She and Grey Holden run Omega Team. Jacqui is our computer expert.”

“Wow, a woman in command. That’s awesome. And another as a computer expert. I wouldn’t have expected women in your field.”

“They’ve earned their places.”

Angelina nodded. “I’m sure they have.”

“Do you have a computer I can use to send these or do I need to set up ours?”

“My lap top is right over here,” Angelina said, walking into the living room and picking it up.

“Do you have a printer with a scanner?” Luiz asked.

“Yep, it’s wireless. It’s set up in my bedroom. Follow me.” Crap, I didn’t even make my bed this morning. She thought. “Please ignore the mess,” she said as they entered the room. “I wasn’t expecting company in my room.” She shoved her night gown under the pillow and caught a flash of something cross Luiz’s face as the wisp of purple satin slipped out of sight. Was that lust on the harsh warrior’s stoic consul? Hard to tell with those damn glasses covering half his face. But shit, she would be one happy camper if the Latin lothario was interested in more than protecting her. She would certainly like to explore the muscles on his body, one at time…with her tongue.

The man might be gruff and growly, but she liked gruff and growly. Ever since he’d walked in the house, her panties had been wet. She was dying to take those glasses off his face. She wanted to see his eyes. The rest of him had her panting and squeezing her legs together to assuage the ache. All man. Totally alpha. Every inch was sculpted muscle that flexed and bulged with his movements. And that hair! She wanted to take it down from the ponytail and run her fingers through it. Have it slide across her body as he—

“How do you get this machine to scan?” Luiz asked, interrupting her fantasy, just when it was getting good, too.

“Here, I’ll do it,” she said taking over and scanning the cards. Their hands brushed briefly and electric shocks shot up her arm. Did he feel it too?

Luiz stepped back. “I’ll meet you in the living room.  We need to discuss our plans.”

“Okay, I’ll be right there.”

The Playground

As a teacher, I’m used to being on the playground. But I never thought I’d be the one swinging.

I’m also a wife and mother, always trying to keep everyone happy. My sons just left for college, forcing me to see how far apart my husband and I have grown. I feel like a damn cliché.

Then the teacher down the hall with questionable morals introduces me to her friends. They’re swingers.

What the what?!

It’s all fun and games until your sex swing breaks. Haha, no really, so far it seems like all fun and games. It could be the answer to what’s missing in my life…or maybe I’m just not asking the right questions?

Excerpt:

Josh Jackson didn’t worry when his cousin failed to come home. It was Saturday night and Kevin was eighteen. Josh wasn’t about to impose a curfew on the kid. Neither was he going to babysit. Kevin was old enough to take care of himself.

Josh checked Kevin’s room when he came home from work at one o’clock. The spare bed hadn’t been made since Kevin had gotten out of it that morning and yesterday’s clothes were all over the floor—discarded jeans with his boxers still inside them, a scruffy T-shirt and a pair of dirty socks. The smell of the socks hit him from the doorway. Despite the reek of cheap deodorant and aftershave filling the room, the socks were pungent. Teenagers. Josh wasn’t about to tidy up after him so he left things as they were, including the damp towel draped over the foot of the bed. The kid was only staying a few nights. If he wanted to live in a mess like that, so be it, so long as he left the place as he’d found it when he moved on.

Josh shut the door and went to bed. He wished his cousin luck. If the boy wanted to get laid, he’d rather he did it somewhere else. It was bad enough that Josh’s lodger, Bobby, regarded the place as a Grindr pit stop, without his cousin treating it like a knocking shop, too.

Josh read for a while and half-listened for the sound of Kevin coming home, but eventually fell asleep.

He wasn’t overly concerned in the morning to find Kevin’s room just as he’d left it, though by now it smelled considerably worse. The fancy fragrances had worn off and all that remained was the fetid odor of teenage sweat and damp towel. So, he stayed out all night. Good on him. Josh had been a teenager once, a horny one at that, so he could totally relate. Kevin wouldn’t get the chance to fuck around much when he was at home. His mother had very rigid views on that. It wouldn’t have mattered whether Kevin had turned out straight or gay. His mother had raised a good boy and intended to keep him that way.

Kevin will be going back to her in a couple of days. He might as well have fun while the leash is off.

He was a good-looking lad. Josh knew he’d be popular in town. A little baby-faced for his age, but with the family features of blue eyes and blond hair, his fresh twinkie image would attract plenty of attention. He looked a lot like Josh had at that age. Josh had been a slim-looking twink until well into his twenties. It was only in the last few years he’d filled out with muscle and looked more like a man. The beard helped. How grateful he’d been when the ability to grow more than a few wisps of pale chin-fluff finally occurred. He kept it neat with a regular trim, but now that he had grown a beard, he couldn’t ever see himself being without one.

Josh called Kevin’s mobile while waiting for his morning coffee to brew. It rang a few times before going to voicemail. “Hi, it’s me,” he said. “Not checking up on you, I just want to know you’re okay. Give me a ring back, or a text when you get this message. Just to say you’re alive… Otherwise I’ll have to call your mother,” he added jokingly and hung up.

He had bigger concerns than a randy teenager. His restaurant, The Cellar Steps, was short on staff today and fully booked for both lunch and dinner. He’d asked all his remaining staff to come in early to help with the prep and service, which meant getting in even earlier himself. As the owner, it wasn’t necessary, since he employed a manager for the day-to-day running, but Josh believed in setting an example from the top down. That meant rolling up his sleeves when things got tight. He thought about putting a little cash Kevin’s way to help out, if he arrived home in decent time and wasn’t too hung over.

He heard the heavy thud of the newspapers landing in the hall. Perfect timing. A little news and some freshly brewed coffee. A relaxing start to an otherwise hectic day.

Josh sat at the kitchen table with multiple Sunday supplements spread all around him when Bobby stumbled out of his bedroom in just his boxers and a T-shirt, yawning and scratching his belly and balls at the same time. His semi-hard dick waggled in the front of his shorts. Bobby lurched into the bathroom and returned a few minutes later, looking fractionally more awake, minus morning wood.

“Coffee?” Bobby asked. “Okay if I help myself?”

“You know where it is,” Josh said, drawing back from the stench of alcohol that came off him in stale waves. “Jesus, your blood must be one hundred proof.”

“I think I’m still drunk,” Bobby observed. “The hangover hasn’t kicked in yet.”

“I don’t envy you when it does.”

“One cup of this and I’m crawling back beneath the duvet.”

Josh looked at him uncertainly. An idea had just occurred to him. He hoped he was wrong. “I don’t suppose my cousin is under that duvet with you?”

Bobby chuckled, his dark eyes crinkling. “Wouldn’t that be something? He is kinda hot. But little blond cupcakes are not my thing. In Kevin’s case, I could make an exception. Maybe.”

“But did you?”

“Too close to home, bro. The kid’s a cutie but he ain’t worth the earache. I’d never hear the last of it.”

It was some relief. Josh didn’t have a problem with his young cousin fucking around—but with Bobby, no way. His lodger was a good friend but a total slut. Kevin would need a lot more experience under his belt before he was ready for that old hound. “I don’t suppose you do know where he is? He hasn’t been home.”

“He’s between somebody’s sheets, all right. I walked into town with him last night, had a drink and showed him where to go.”

“You left him on his own?”

“No, he left me. I guess I cramped his style. He headed off toward Gala Square with a group of studenty types. He didn’t know how fast to ditch me once he got to talking to people his own age.”

Josh loosened up again. He’d been right about Kevin. He knew what he was doing. A young man in a new city making friends fast. There was nothing to worry about.

Thom Collins Bio

Thom Collins is the author of the novel Closer by Morning, with Pride Publishing. His love of page turning thrillers began at an early age when his mother caught him reading the latest Jackie Collins book and promptly confiscated it, sparking a life-long love of raunchy novels.

His novella Silent Voices will be published by Pride in May, followed by the novel Anthem of the Sea, the first book in the Anthem Trilogy. He has recently finished writing the second book in a series and is making plans for the third.

Thom has lived in the North East of England his whole life. He grew up in Northumberland and now lives in County Durham with his husband and two cats. He loves all kinds of genre fiction, especially bonk-busters, thrillers, romance and horror. He is also a cookery book addict with far too many titles cluttering his shelves. When not writing he can be found in the kitchen trying out new recipes. He’s a keen traveler but with a fear of flying that gets worse with age. Since taking his first cruise in 2013 he realized that sailing is the way to go.
