My current reading obsession ~ bear shifters!

I have certain things I like to read. For the past 6 months or so, I’ve been obsessed with bears! Shifters of course!

I just finished the Rancher Bear series by Candace Ayers. They weren’t real long books, but the writing and the characters were very entertaining. Add in 5 pig headed bears, a will that set them at odds and let the fun begin! If 5 sexy bear brothers aren’t enough, add in their cousin the sheriff and a heartwarming Christmas tale.

Here is the link for the 6 book series:

If you prefer to order them individually or have KU, these are the links:

Kim Fox has some yummy, yummy bears! The Vega Brothers are a steaming hot handful of sexy bears! Fresh from the military, these brothers will make you drool as they set about claiming their inheritance and beating back the bad guys!

Another I’ve enjoyed is The Clawed Squad by Kim Fox. Now these are some HAWT men or bears, (I’m happy with them either way). You have black bears, grizzly bears and polar bears! Unknowingly forced into the same situation as the Vega Brothers (because when you help out a fellow squad they do you a solid-or so everyone thought) they weren’t quite thrilled with the ultimatum.

I can’t forget Ruby Shae! Her Blackberry Creek bears I could just hug. See? Just check out the covers. The stories are as good as they look.

And have you read Sophie Stern? I just love the Honeypot Darlings and Honeypot Babies series.

She has a polar bear series, too. I haven’t read those yet though.

Harmony Raines, Zoe Chant, Tamara Hoffa, Terry Bolryder, Sable Sylvan all have bear books. I’ve read so many I’ve enjoyed I can’t name them all!

Now that I’m dying to read some more, so I’m going to use it as a reward to myself, lol. I’m ten pages from the end of my self-edits on A Dragon’s Treasure. I’m shipping it off to my editor by Sunday. Release day will be June 16th. I’ll have it with me at a book signing in St. Paul Minnesota! Four Authors and an awesome car show!

Hope to see you there! And I hope you love bear books as much as I do.

An Interesting Find by Lucy Felthouse

Out Now—An Interesting Find by Lucy Felthouse (@cw1985) #menage #military #gay

Blurb:

Nathan and Lee are on a relaxing summer holiday in the UK. They plan to do lots of walking and exploring in the beautiful English countryside. Naturally, typical British weather derails their plans on their first day, leaving them cooped up indoors with little to do but read.

When the weather clears, the men eagerly put on their hiking boots and head out for a walk. However, when they reach their destination—a pond a little distance from their holiday cottage—they make a shocking discovery. An odd-looking bundle of rags turns out to be an unconscious man. With no one else around, and no mobile phone signal to call for help, they manage to get the stranger back to their cottage to get him warm and dry, and figure out what to do next.

When their unexpected house guest regains consciousness, however, things just get more complicated. The stranger—a British soldier called Jonny—doesn’t want the authorities to be notified of his presence. As the three men try to come to some agreement, the sexual tension in the air becomes apparent, and suddenly the last thing on any of their minds is leaving the cottage…

Excerpt:

Closing his book with a very final slap, Nathan then put it on the coffee table in front of him. He leaned back in his chair. Stretching languidly, he said, “Bloody good, that was. Though, admittedly, I thought it’d last me all week. Wasn’t expecting to get through it on day one.”

Raising an eyebrow, Lee shot Nathan an amused glance. “Not far off myself. Fucking storm. Stupid us, eh, going on holiday in the UK in summertime—not like you can guarantee the sodding weather, is it? Should’ve gone to the Canaries.”

“No, we can’t guarantee the weather, but…” Nathan gave the window a sidelong glance, “I do have some good news.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. The torrential downpour has stopped.”

“Seriously?” Lee slammed his own book closed and scurried over to the window. “Oh, wow, it’s cleared right up, and I can see a rainbow. Wanna head out? Just a little wander down to that pond we saw on the way here, maybe? Get some fresh air. We’ve got loads of daylight left, haven’t we?”

Nathan checked his watch. “Yeah, plenty. Especially if we’re only nipping to the pond. It’s probably only a fifteen-minute walk.”

“Fantastic. I was going a bit fucking stir crazy in here. I’ll grab our coats and shoes.”

Lee had disappeared into the hallway of their rented holiday cottage before Nathan had the chance to reply. Shaking his head with a smile, Nathan collected their empty mugs from the coffee table and took them into the kitchen, then got a bottle of water from the fridge. He doubted they’d need a drink during their short trek along the road, but he could just shove the bottle in his coat pocket and forget about it. At least it’d be there if they wanted it.

When he returned to the living room, Lee was just about to tie up his laces.

“I got water,” Nathan said, brandishing the bottle.

“Cool. Shoes are there.” He nodded to the chair Nathan had been sitting in. Sure enough, his trail shoes were waiting on the floor in front of it.

“Thanks.”

Within a few minutes, they were headed out of the door. Nathan locked up, pocketed the key, then checked the handle. He doubted very much the place would get broken into—they were in the middle of nowhere, after all. There were farms nearby, but the closest village was about a mile and a half away. So any thieves would have to make a considerable effort to get to the cottage in the first place, never mind attempt to break into it. Rolling his eyes at his own paranoia, he turned and followed Lee, who’d already started walking slowly along the road in the direction of the pond.

After falling into step beside Lee, Nathan pulled in some deep breaths, enjoying the fresh air after being cooped up in the cottage. It was a beautiful and cozy place, but it was supposed to be a base for them to go walking—somewhere for them to eat, sleep and shower, not to be stuck in for hours on end, staring at the walls. Or climbing them.

He admired the rainbow as they walked, its vivid colors painted across the watery sky. It seemed the clouds had literally exhausted themselves—only occasional wispy streaks of white now interrupted the never-ending blue. The sun beamed down, heating up the ground and beginning to evaporate the huge puddles. It would take some doing—one such puddle stretched across the width of the road, and they had to skirt around its edge to avoid getting wet feet.

Nathan smiled. Though the storm itself had been grim, the washed-out aftermath made everything feel fresh, clean somehow.

“You look thoughtful,” Lee said, breaking into his reverie. “A penny for them?”

“Mmm. It’s one of those things that sounds better in your head than said out loud.”

“Try me.”

Shrugging, Nathan replied. “Nothing major. Just admiring the rainbow, the sky, the clouds… Thinking how everything looks so fresh and clean after a good storm. Like it’s been purified, or something… Ugh, it’s stupid.”

Lee stopped and reached for Nathan’s hand. His green eyes were wide and filled with wonder. “No, it isn’t. Not at all—I was thinking something similar myself. It’s kinda romantic, isn’t it? Purification, rebirth, and all that.”

“In a roundabout way, maybe. I dunno.” He shrugged again.

Lee’s eyes narrowed, and his lips curved into a wicked grin. “We could make it romantic.”

“How so?”

“Come here, and I’ll show you.” Still gripping Nathan’s hand, Lee tugged him close and moved in for a kiss. Nathan went into the embrace willingly, the smile on his face soon smothered by Lee’s hot lips.

Blurb:

Lee Santiago went from one mistake to the next. When a friend dies, exposing his mortality all too well Lee’s family steps in to force him to make something of himself. He can’t be a party boy all his life and if he wants to sign his life away, it will be on the dotted line. He doesn’t even have time to say goodbye. Anyway it was only a drunken one night stand.

Isabelle was always the good girl. Until that night. When the man she’d always worshiped finally noticed her. She couldn’t say no. She’s heartsick to find out he doesn’t remember it. Isabelle’s life crashes around her when the results are in. The truth comes out and she has nowhere to turn. She looks for Lee, but he’s gone.

Will he be man enough to step up and face the consequences when he learns the truth?

Excerpt (G):

“Lenny, my man. Alejandro loaned me his car and I wanted to hit Dead Man’s Curve. You up for some fun today? Call me back, dude.”

Closing his phone he stared at it. He willed his phone to ring. Len never left him hanging. They’d been tight for as long as he could remember. A sick feeling twisted in his stomach. He had to know the truth. He dialed the number that they’d only used in emergencies.

It rang and rang. Not good. Lee was getting ready to hang up when it was answered.

“Hola.”

He’d never heard her like that, voice deep and raw.

“Mrs. R. It’s Lee. Can I talk to Len?”

She burst out crying, deep sobs that tore from her gut.

“Mrs. Rodriguez. What’s the matter?”

“Who is this? What did you say?” The phone had changed hands. Mr. Rodriguez answered, his voice hoarse.

“Mr. R. It’s Lee Santiago. I just asked to talk to Lenny. He didn’t answer his phone. I drove by the house earlier.” Lee could hear the tremble in his own voice. “The police were there. Is Lenny okay?”

Lenny was his best bro. He had to be okay. Lee would be lost without him.

“Oh God, Lee.” Lee could hear the heaviness in his voice. “Lenny’s dead. We came home early and found him on the couch. We thought he was asleep.”

Lee squeezed his phone. It couldn’t be true.

“No. He was fine last night. Laughing and joking.”

“The police think it was a drug overdose.”

Lee was silent, heart aching and gut churning.

“Lee, did you hear me?”

“Yes.”

“Lenny didn’t do drugs. He didn’t do drugs, right Lee?”

Lee couldn’t answer. Lenny had started running with a harder crowd lately. His throat felt raw. How could he respond? He didn’t really know for sure.

“Answer me, Lee.”

“Mr. R.” Lee swallowed. “I don’t know. Some of the people he knew…” He drew in a deep breath. “Some of the people he knew weren’t so good.”

The line was silent. He could hear Mr. R’s breathing and Mrs. Rodriguez crying in the background. He leaned his head on the steering wheel. A tremor shook his body. He just knew what was coming.

“Will you tell the police what you know, Lee? Please. Lenny was your best friend.”

His gut clenched. He knew it. What could he say? No? Yes? Lenny was his best friend. Sometimes his only friend. If he told what he suspected, he might as well pick out his gravesite. Hell, his mom already had it. He’d be planted next to Papa, pushing up the roses.

“I don’t know.” He drew in a ragged breath and swallowed. “Maybe.”

“What went on last night, Lee? Was there a party here? The place is trashed.”

Lee could hear him crying. A hopeless sound that twisted his heart. Mr. R had stepped in when Lee’s dad had died years ago, taking him under his wing. How could he say no?

“Yeah, there was a party. I was on my way over to help Lenny clean up when I saw the cops.”

“Why didn’t you come over?”

Lee swallowed and leaned his head back against the seat.

“I didn’t want to hear what you just told me.”

“The police will want to question you. They need to find out what went on last night.”

Lee swallowed and nodded. He squeezed his eyes shut. The damp tracks on his cheeks were drying in the heat leaving his skin tight.

Excerpt (R):

“I’ve never seen you at a party before. I thought you were a good little girl.” His teasing voice sent thrills throughout her body.

“Today’s my birthday.” Isabelle snuggled closer to him. His body seemed to surround hers.

“So, does that make you legal today?”

Isabelle nodded vigorously then groaned. Her head swam from the movement. Maybe, just maybe she’d had a bit much to drink. Lee would take care of her though. He’d promised.

“But not legal for drinking yet.”

Isabelle pouted then sniffed.

“So what? Most of the people here aren’t twenty-one.”

“Doesn’t make it right.”

Isabelle craned her head around to look at him. Surprised at the hard note in his voice.

“But you’ve been drinking since you were in high school.”

“Again, doesn’t make it right. So, you decided to cut loose now that you’re an adult?”

The small smirk at the side of his mouth fascinated her. Somehow the tip of her finger made its way there. His lips were strong but soft, warm against the softness of her finger. The scruff around his mouth prickled her finger as he rubbed his face against it.

“Don’t play with fire, little girl.” He nipped the tip of her finger as he winked at her, sending a zing through her body.

Isabelle giggled. Normally she thought herself out of Lee’s league, but tonight that didn’t bother her in the least. She’d had too many jello shots to care. Snuggled in his arms, his hands on her affected her more than any bit of alcohol could. Combining them gave her a warm glow.

Isabelle wiggled, the trail of his fingertips tickling her neck and circling her ear. She could feel her nipples tightening, glad for her push up bra. It made her boobs look fabulous, but was thick enough to hide her body’s reaction.

Lee chuckled in her ear, sending warmth pooling low in her belly. Isabelle caught her breath as he trailed his finger down her breast unerringly circling her nipple.

“Cat got your tongue, little girl?”

His warm breath in her ear, followed by a flick of his tongue had her gasping. She shifted, wiggling, trying to relieve the ache building in her. Lee pulled her closer, positioning her across one leg. One hand held her tightly by the hip. The other skimmed the top of her camisole dipping in to tease her nipple.

Isabelle gasped at the sensation. “Lee.” She didn’t know if she was encouraging or warning him away.

He chuckled, stroking her nipple until it stood out, obvious to anyone that bothered to look. He lowered his head, bending Isabelle over his arm as he nibbled her through her shirt. With a tug he pulled it aside exposing her breast before quickly sucking it into his mouth.

“Ah.” Isabelle arched offering herself to the warm suction of his mouth. She caught her breath, liquid heat pooling between her legs with each pull. Her toes curled. The noise of the party disappearing, all her senses focused on the sensations swirling in her body.

“Beautiful.” His voice muffled as he nursed.

CHARACTER INTERVIEW: Lee Santiago

Are you upset your name is not in the title?

I think the title describing my Izzy is perfect.

Is your love interest the way you pictured him or her? Or would you have preferred someone with a different hair color?

I never considered anyone other than Izzy. Hell, I tried not to imagine Izzy as I know she is too good for me. Luckily she didn’t agree!

Do you have any annoying habits your author did not share with us in your book?

Other than the drinking, drugs and women? Seriously? What could be worse?

Do you have siblings? Are you close to them?

Well, since Izzy is best friends with mi hermana, my sister Jacinta, I have no choice! And mi hermano, my brother Alejandro, has saved my ass more than once. So, yeah, we’re close. The whole family is.

Any hobbies we might be interested in knowing about?

Drinking? But I’m trying to stop. It’s not easy either.

Are you happy with the profession your author chose for you or would you rather be working at something totally different and why?

I had no choice! She’s as bad as mi familia. But I didn’t have any plans on a profession. I was happy partying. But I am enjoying the Navy, just don’t tell her!

Are you planning to make an appearance in a sequel? If not are you unhappy about that?

Well, I’m sure you’ll hear about me and Izzy in Alejandro’s story. Especially as I insisted my story be told before his.

Now for a personal question. Is there enough sex in the book for you? Would you have liked more?

I like sex! But I didn’t really want to share Izzy with anyone. So, no, it was enough.

Did your author listen to you when you tried to redirect her?

Oh yes. She was ready to go on and on and on. I like to get to the meat of things so we had to compromise on what is hopefully a happy medium.

Did your story end too soon?

No, I don’t think so. I think the ending, which is just the beginning for Izzy and me was perfect.

Were you happy with your wardrobe?

It was okay. I wasn’t happy about putting on a uniform but learned to live with it. Thank God I was able to get back in civvies.

Character Interview: Nicholas ‘Saint’ Santiago

Are you upset your name is not in the title?

Well, my nickname is, so that’s okay. I truly am a Saint you know! *winks*

Is your love interest the way you pictured him or her? Or would you have preferred someone with a different hair color.

Angel is perfect. It’s not so much her looks as her beautiful personality. Not that she’s not hot! She is sizzling.

Do you have any annoying habits your author did not share with us in your book?

Moi? Annoying habits? Of course not. *smirks*

Do you have siblings? Are you close to them?

I have a little sister, mi hermana. We were close when we were younger but the years since I’ve been away have been hard.

Any hobbies we might be interested in knowing about?

I like to work with my hands. Gardening is one I enjoy. But don’t let that out! You’ll ruin my machismo!

Are you happy with the profession your author chose for you or would you rather be working at something totally different and why?

I love what I do. Being a Marine is what I was born to do. It’s hard, but someone has to do it. I know I have my whole family behind me to support me. And now I have my Angel. I would never have met her if I hadn’t become a Marine.

Are you planning to make an appearance in a sequel? If not are you unhappy about that?

I’m sure that even if you don’t see me again, you’ll hear about me. Mi familia is close and just wait until you see what mi primos (my cousins) are getting up to! Jandro always had it in him to be a hero, and Lee, well he creates his own problems. I might just have to step in to help straighten him out.

Now for a personal question. Is there enough sex in the book for you? Would you have liked more?

*chuckles* You can never have enough sex. But Angelina was hungry. I just looked on it as foreplay.

Did you author handle your “love” scenes the way you like or was she too explicit or not explicit enough?

I thought it was perfect. I’m not exactly shy!

How many re-writes did you have to live through?

Way too many! I think she changed it at least ten times if not more. Not to mention the total rewrite where she finally let my Angel tell her side of the story!

Did your story end too soon?

That’s hard to say. Angel is a bit shyer than me. We were heading back to bed. That was my plan at least. *winks* My story isn’t over though, you’ll hear more about us.

Were you happy with your wardrobe?

How could I not be? I was either in uniform, one that is totally awesome by the way, in board shorts or naked. I like naked. Oh yeah, I did have to wear a monkey suit, but it was worth it. Especially with Angel helping to take it off.

That was then—this is now.

When a woman from his past shows up on his doorstep, Navy SEAL Trent Wagner isn’t sure what to expect. The little sister of his best friend back in high school, Lyla Torres is all grown up now and even more beautiful than he remembered. He’d always had a thing for her back then, but that damn bro code meant she was off limits.

Before Trent can act on the sparks that obviously still exist between them, he’s going to have to use his SEAL training to help find her brother. His old friend has messed up his life since they were teenagers, getting into drugs and doing some time in jail, and now he’s missing. Trent knows it’s not a good idea to get involved in someone else’s problems, especially when they could end up getting both him and Lyla thrown into prison—or killed. But Trent has never been able to say no to a beautiful woman, especially one he’s had a crush on since high school.
