From Me to You #happytobewriting #oopsIkilledhimoff

I played hooky last Saturday! I couldn’t think of a thing to write.

Nada, zip, nothing.

I’ve been in a bit of a slump. I’m stuck on my dragon story, Finding Faith. I’m stuck on my erotic short, Triple D: Enticed by the Cowboy. So… I went into my manuscript file to see what caught my eye. I settled on a bit called ‘the old lady’. LOL. I think I should call it, ‘I’m not old, dammit!’ I read it, laughed and started writing again. From the story line so far, I must have been pissed at my husband. I killed him off! 28 years of marriage and being a writer will do that I guess.

Better than arsenic or a bat when he’s sleeping or any of the real ways to bump him off!

So, I’m not sure where this will lead. A middle aged… cough cough… romance probably. Dead husbands, meddling family, even if they mean well, and who knows? maybe a ghost! No clue where it’s headed, but at least I’m writing again! I moved my desk up into a corner in the bedroom. Writing in the dining room wasn’t working with my daughter and granddaughter now living with us. But wrapped in pajamas and finally comfortable and able to reach my computer even in the middle of the night to write will do wonders! I write when I’m happy I guess, and comfortable.

Since my husband helped me get my desk situated, I wouldn’t bump him off now, but since I already did…  🙂 I’m going with it! If I look, I probably have more bits like that. I have a temper and he sets it off without even meaning to poor guy! So I put it down in words and let it go. We don’t fight a lot, just snipe at each other for a bit and settle back down. When I hear my mother coming out of my mouth, I shut up, LOL.

So, catch up on some of my books, I will be putting something out still this year, though my schedule was railroaded with the girls moving back home. I’m too close to the end on at least three books to not get at least one out. So your guess is as good as mine which one it will be!

Here is the victim of my paper crime, lol. Pirate day at Red Lobster.

Oops!

Okay, so I forgot it was Saturday and was so tired from coming home from my vacation, I forgot to post.

Totally irresponsible! To prove it, we went to the county fair today and here’s a photo.

‘When grandma babysits’ LOL. Hope you enjoy! My granddaughter did!

Ack! The year is half over!

July 1, 2017

Dear Diary,

Where has the time gone? The important things-family, life have continued. My granddaughter, my little dragon is turning two tomorrow!

She went from this

to this

A wonderfully happy strong minded (I didn’t say stubborn, lol) joy.

I bought her a T-shirt that fits perfectly

Family Favorite

#NailedIt

So with the terrible twos upon us, I see some interesting days to come! Regardless, they will be filled with joy just because of her presence.

The four generations still continue, thankfully. Here we are today. By the way, I hate my picture, lol. The only saving grace is I’m holding the family tyrant, er favorite!

Have a happy and wonderful Independence Day to my fellow Americans! Be assured I’ll be celebrating and reading and writing! In that order! And hopefully finishing my desk!

If you haven’t checked out my newest book, A Dragon’s Treasure, it is available!

A dragon’s most desired treasure is his mate, but what if she didn’t want to be?

A Dragon’s Treasure

Kai has been hunting for his mate for a very long time. Drawn to a singular place on earth, filled with treasures, he still seeks the greatest treasure of them all. His mate.

Fleeing danger, Connie runs into the arms of destiny, but she has plans already, and a Dragon mate is not on the agenda.

Kai has waited centuries for Connie, and he will claim his mate. Patience may not be a Dragon’s virtue, but he always gets his treasure.

Sparks fly in this humorous erotic tale of mating and mayhem.

Just a quickie!

I’m heading out to a retirement party this morning for one of my employees. I’m sad to see her go, but at some point you want to enjoy life without having to get up to go to work every morning. Best of luck Mary!

When I get back home, I’ll finish up the edits on A Dragon’s Treasure. I’ve a cover artist working on a cover and am eagerly awaiting for it. I still have to finish the blurb! LOL. The hardest part of any book. Ask any author.

Would this tagline catch your interest?

A dragon’s most desired treasure was his mate, but what if she didn’t want to be?

#Procrastinating!

Sooo. I’m sitting here wearing my Lularoe leggings, my ‘My Patronus is Tyrannosaurus Rex’ tshirt and wondering why I’m writing my blog instead of diving into one of my books I’m working on. I’m also debating on cutting the lawn!

Real exciting! LOL. It is beautiful out and it is definitley distracting me!

My granddaughter should be being dropped off soon so I hate to get into my book and then not be able to get back to it.

Does that sound like an excuse? Yeah, it does to me too, lol.

Spring fever! I think I have it.

Plus, I hate editing.

I tried to show how many edits I have to go but I can’t seem to copy the page!

So, here’s a short excerpt of A Dragon’s Treasure (mid editing, lol):

Dragons were eyed warily when they finally stepped out of the realms of legend. The last group of shifters to make themselves known to man. Too many shifters had been exterminated when they disclosed their existence. Dragons had lived too long to not be wary of man. Unlike most shifters, rumors of dragons had existed since man began to walk. Little did they realize Dragons walked among them.

Kai’s heart ached. He’d lost his parents more than two centuries past. Superstition and hate were a powerful motive. Bounties on the lives of dragons, sent fool-hardy hunters after them. His mother had been caught unaware, pierced through the heart by a crossbow.

His father had gone berserk. His revenge against the hunters bloody. Kai burrowed deeper into his pile, anger gripping him. His father had been paraded around the village, head hacked from his body and displayed on a pike. He breathed deeply, releasing a stream of steam that rose from between the coins. He ground his teeth, remembering.

He missed them.

Kai and his siblings had eradicated the village. He rumbled, eyes gleaming. The satisfaction of seeing his parent’s murderers plead for mercy was a balm to his soul. The blood had flowed, their bodies torn apart. Kai swallowed, the metallic taste of their blood, one he wouldn’t forget. The repercussions had torn the siblings apart. Forced to flee and separate to save themselves, Kai had rarely seen them since.

That was just a random bit from Chapter One. It gets steamier and not just from Kai!

Coming June 16 in ebook and paperback!

Okay since it is going to be out, and I want it to be good, consider I now #amwriting!

A Dragon’s Treasure is at my editor’s (Magic Wand Editing). I’m on the hunt for a cover and still hopelessly lost when it comes to figuring out my blurb for the back cover!

How about this?

Kai has been hunting for his mate for a very long time. Biding his time, he searches for her finally settling in Wisconsin. Something drew him back every time he left. Giving in to the pull, he stays.

Connie is a college student. She witnessed a murder and is running for her life. She decides to hide with her cousin and is attracted to Kai from the moment she meets him. Until he opens his mouth.

Kai has no problem claiming Connie as his mate. Too bad she doesn’t agree. There’s that whole ick factor going on that she can’t ignore. Kai will do his best to change her mind, one kiss at a time.

Sparks fly in this humorous erotic tale of mating and mayhem.

Eh, it’s just a start! My mind is on getting ready for the signing and blurb is just a dirty five letter word!

A Dragon’s Treasure will be released June 16. I’ll be in MN at a book signing and it will be available there on release day.
