Here is our speaker for the day,

Here are some of the attendees! Listening to Louis V Clark III.

Well, I’m going to pay attention to the rest of the speakers and chat to people – Be one of them!

Just a quickie!

I’m heading out to a retirement party this morning for one of my employees. I’m sad to see her go, but at some point you want to enjoy life without having to get up to go to work every morning. Best of luck Mary!

When I get back home, I’ll finish up the edits on A Dragon’s Treasure. I’ve a cover artist working on a cover and am eagerly awaiting for it. I still have to finish the blurb! LOL. The hardest part of any book. Ask any author.

Would this tagline catch your interest?

A dragon’s most desired treasure was his mate, but what if she didn’t want to be?

#Procrastinating!

Sooo. I’m sitting here wearing my Lularoe leggings, my ‘My Patronus is Tyrannosaurus Rex’ tshirt and wondering why I’m writing my blog instead of diving into one of my books I’m working on. I’m also debating on cutting the lawn!

Real exciting! LOL. It is beautiful out and it is definitley distracting me!

My granddaughter should be being dropped off soon so I hate to get into my book and then not be able to get back to it.

Does that sound like an excuse? Yeah, it does to me too, lol.

Spring fever! I think I have it.

Plus, I hate editing.

I tried to show how many edits I have to go but I can’t seem to copy the page!

So, here’s a short excerpt of A Dragon’s Treasure (mid editing, lol):

Dragons were eyed warily when they finally stepped out of the realms of legend. The last group of shifters to make themselves known to man. Too many shifters had been exterminated when they disclosed their existence. Dragons had lived too long to not be wary of man. Unlike most shifters, rumors of dragons had existed since man began to walk. Little did they realize Dragons walked among them.

Kai’s heart ached. He’d lost his parents more than two centuries past. Superstition and hate were a powerful motive. Bounties on the lives of dragons, sent fool-hardy hunters after them. His mother had been caught unaware, pierced through the heart by a crossbow.

His father had gone berserk. His revenge against the hunters bloody. Kai burrowed deeper into his pile, anger gripping him. His father had been paraded around the village, head hacked from his body and displayed on a pike. He breathed deeply, releasing a stream of steam that rose from between the coins. He ground his teeth, remembering.

He missed them.

Kai and his siblings had eradicated the village. He rumbled, eyes gleaming. The satisfaction of seeing his parent’s murderers plead for mercy was a balm to his soul. The blood had flowed, their bodies torn apart. Kai swallowed, the metallic taste of their blood, one he wouldn’t forget. The repercussions had torn the siblings apart. Forced to flee and separate to save themselves, Kai had rarely seen them since.

That was just a random bit from Chapter One. It gets steamier and not just from Kai!

Coming June 16 in ebook and paperback!

Okay since it is going to be out, and I want it to be good, consider I now #amwriting!

Just a dirty five letter word!

Today I’m at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art

227 State Street, Madison, WI 53703

11am – 400pm

Feel free to stop by and say hi! This event is free to the public. 35 authors will be there along with live music.

Kick off Madison’s Farmers Market by stopping and shopping with us.

I’ll have signed copies available for sale of Stealing Hope, A Saint’s Salvation, A Sailor’s Delight and Love Me Forever.

A Dragon’s Treasure is at my editor’s (Magic Wand Editing). I’m on the hunt for a cover and still hopelessly lost when it comes to figuring out my blurb for the back cover!

How about this?

Kai has been hunting for his mate for a very long time. Biding his time, he searches for her finally settling in Wisconsin. Something drew him back every time he left. Giving in to the pull, he stays.

Connie is a college student. She witnessed a murder and is running for her life. She decides to hide with her cousin and is attracted to Kai from the moment she meets him. Until he opens his mouth.

Kai has no problem claiming Connie as his mate. Too bad she doesn’t agree. There’s that whole ick factor going on that she can’t ignore. Kai will do his best to change her mind, one kiss at a time.

Sparks fly in this humorous erotic tale of mating and mayhem.

Eh, it’s just a start! My mind is on getting ready for the signing and blurb is just a dirty five letter word!

A Dragon’s Treasure will be released June 16. I’ll be in MN at a book signing and it will be available there on release day.

Hard at work

I’m hard at work! LOL. My granddaughter is fascinated by computers and seems to love mine. Before I could stop her, she’d climbed into my lap and had her hands on the keyboard.

I have to sneak time to write as the computer seems to be a magnet to her sticky little fingers. So it is taking a while to finish anything! With the move behind us, and her early bedtime (okay sometimes I go to sleep at the same time!) I can get down to work writing.

I am hard at work. I’m down to 20 pages to rewrite on A Dragon’s Treasure. I’ll have it to an editor by the end of next week. I had hoped to have it at the book signing I’m attending on April 15th in Madison WI, but that’s not happening.

I’ll have it available for the signing in Saint Paul MN on June 16th and the Brew City Book Signing in Milwaukee WI on October 7th.

So, if you are anywhere in the vicinity of Madison WI on April 15th, come check out the authors (and ME!) at Madtown Author Daze. We’ll be there to start off the opening of the Farmer’s Market! Dozens of local authors and live music! Come out to this FREE event on April 15th from 11-4 in the lobby of Madison Museum of Contemporary Art!! https://hdtk.co/BE6Jb

Hope to see you there!

I’m drowning!

My room is finished.

The move is finished. My daughter and granddaughter are now at home with us. I’m tip toeing around a sea of boxes and baby toys. Today, I experienced getting ready for work while getting a toddler ready to go. It’s been a long time since I had to do that. I could have gone a lifetime without experiencing it again!

I’m soooo glad she’s a cheerful little critter when she wakes up!

I actually managed to get some laundry done. I was so excited. LOL, pretty sad, isn’t it? With our lives up in the air, no routines have been established. I’m trying to find a place that I can write again. I’m currently in an odd and uncomfortable position while writing my post. No way can I finish a book like this!

My computer is practically upside down. I think I’m going to go on the hunt for a desk again. It just has to be small enough to not crowd out the room, but large enough to have my laptop and room for my coffee and notes.

I’d like to get an old cast iron sewing machine bottom and build my own. Maybe I watch too much Flea Market Flip! But since I love to sew, that would combine two of my favorite things! Isn’t this gorgeous? I’d do it with just a bit bigger top so I could add a file cabinet on one side and some type of drawers for all my pens and papers that I jot notes on.

Tomorrow I’ll try a new spot to write in. I have to hide my computer from my granddaughter. Anything that is Grandma’s she thinks is hers! She’s already taken over my Kindle to watch Sesame Street on. In the meantime I’m on a hunt for an old sewing machine.

As always, you can find my books at my Amazon author page!

It’s done!

It’s finally done! Well, we have to put plate covers on two outlets and the light switch, but otherwise we’re finally finished! Here’s a quick picture chronicle. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of the before! Though I don’t really want to remember it that way!

This is EVERYTHING primed! I’ve tried to paint raw drywall before and the paint just doesn’t come out even without it, not to mention it will take 3 or more coats to get it to turn out correctly. So one coat of primer is better in the end.

Starting to paint!

This is both colors up.

Now the trim.

You can see that I finally got the closet cleaned out! That was horrible! Especially the weird sticky brown stains in there. I don’t even want to know what the kids got all over the walls. We also painted the inside of the closet. It made a world of difference.

Here are the final pics!

What do you think? I like how it turned it. The room is our smallest. I finally measured it and it is a 13’x13′ room. Not a bad size for the smallest bedroom in the house.

The cast iron bed has been mine since high school. The pink doily on the back is a piece tatted by my great-grandma Esther. Sadly she passed on when I was about 8 months pregnant with my first child, so over 25 years ago. Hard to believe so much time has passed. Anyhow…

The lighter colors and the trim don’t show up quite the same in pictures as they do in real life. The walls are more of a buttery color and the trim a shade darker than white. Here are the color strips.

The main walls are Chai Tea Latte. The accent wall is Honey Haven and the trim is Instant Relief. LOL. I used a Pittsburgh Paint base because it was on sale for $24 a gallon. I have to say, I’m happy with it. I used one full gallon of the Latte, 1/2 a gallon of the Honey and 3/4 of the Instant Relief.

Every color had to have a second coat and that is even after we primed the dry wall. Imagine how many coats I would have had to do if I hadn’t primed! I used 1 1/2 gallons just of the primer. I primed the walls and the trim.

So, you’d think I’d be ready to finish my books, right? Wrong! I’m spending today and tomorrow cleaning out our old room and the other bedroom for my daughter and granddaughter. Blah! They are moving stuff in and will be here for good on Monday when we move the big stuff.

My daughter is working today so I gave my husband the choice to stay home and clean while I babysat or babysit while I cleaned.

He’s babysitting. LOL. Big surprise there!

Don’t forget to enter the hop at the top of the page. I’ll be awarding two prizes. I know a $6 prize seems weird, but since a lot of ebooks are priced at $2.99 you’ll be able to purchase 2!

The second winner will get a choice of one of my ebooks below.
