#Review ~ The Cover Model ~ Cheyenne Meadows

The Cover Model

by Cheyenne Meadows

What happens when Fancy, an uptight researcher, finds herself at a scientific conference sharing space with hundreds of avid romance novel fans and a hunky, big time cover model named Mitch right next door? She bangs on the door and demands the orgy stop at once, of course.

Yet, deep down they sense something in one another which might explain why they keep gravitating toward each other. Mitch can’t help teasing the innocent and outspoken Fancy even as she lectures him on hotel etiquette and blossoms right before his eyes. Add in his greatest fan with a criminal past that he’s supposed to track down, penis suckers, a risqué photo shoot, a kidnapping, and Cinderella’s ball, and the fun never stops. In true fairy tale fashion, they fall for one another, but will this particular tale end as the last book closes at the convention?

Diana’s Review:

This book grabbed me right away and never let me go.  The geeky science girl vs the super HOT Cover Model.  The two conventions at the same hotel.  So funny and I instantly related to the science girl.  Trying to sleep so she could be fresh for her presentation the next day.  Having to listen to *the horrors* over 15 minutes of sex on the other side of the wall.  OMG!  I think I may have reacted the same way a time or two. . . LOL

I would recommend this book to anyone.  It is funny, quirky, and happy reading that only makes you smile endlessly.

Rated it 5 Hearts and 4 Flames (hello HOT cover model)

#Review ~ Under a Dom’s Care ~ Sam Crescent

Under a Dom’s Care (Extreme 2)

Jake messed up and broke the rules at club, Extreme. He’s paid the price but the punishment still stands, and he cannot touch a sub within the club. One night out with his friend and he meets the raven haired beauty of his dreams.

Isabella is a librarian and a virgin. She’s tired of her friends nagging her and so, she sets out a plan. The first man to hold her interest is the man she’s going to lose her virginity to.

Big mistake!

No matter how much chemistry was between them, losing her cherry against a brick wall was not the stuff of fairytales. There was no way she’d be giving herself to a man any time soon.

However, Jake refuses to step down. He’s got a reputation to uphold and he refuses to let her go until he shows her what it really means to be under a Dom’s care.

Diana’s Review:

5 Hearts and 4 Flames

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.   I can honestly say that I felt happy throughout this entire reading experience.

Jake is very likeable and believably wants to do the right thing.   He is very Dominant and openly honest all throughout.  In fact all of the characters in this book are refreshingly honest with themselves and each other.  Even though we are reading a book with it’s setting surrounding the BDSM club Extreme, you cannot feel offended by this book.  It is tastefully sensual and there is a wonderful HEA ending.

Bella is a somewhat mousy librarian at first.  A virgin at 23, of course, but it fits this woman better than most that I have read.  Bella doesn’t need men in her life.  Extremely enlightened in a modern world.   The fun lies in what Bella wants and what her very Dominant male, Jake, wants.  At first they do not seem to be in sync.  Bella is not naïve or unfamiliar with BDSM world, but has no real time experience.  Jake just simply put is gob smacked by Bella.

Totally recommend this read to most over 18.   5 stars on Amazon, and Goodreads and 5 hearts with 4 flames on SSLY but only because the sex could have been more scorching and edgy but that is not what this story needed.

Review- The Black Door by Charlotte Howard

theblackdoorImogen Pearce is a single mum of four children and fast approaching 40, she works at Ryedale Incorporated where she has to battle a younger and smarter generation to get to where she wants to go. If that means taking on the account of Cherry and Sean Rubin’s adult shop, then she will. But what happens when Imogen discovers the private club that they run at the back? And what happens when she realizes she knows quite a few members?

Diana’s Review

When Imogen get the boss’s attention with her ad campaign photo for Wicked Ways. . . She does not realize how much her life is going to change.   I don’t know if it was the author’s intention but there was so much parody of real life in Imogen’s life.  Married but separated and nearing a major mid-life crisis of her own, with 4 kids, a soon to be x and a job of less than 1 year that she really, really needs.  All that stress gets to you, you blow up at the boss and end up in an escalating comedy Shakespeare would have been proud of. . .

I am sure other reviewers will reveal spoilers but I will not.   It is too good a story to spoil.  Well, maybe you need to have been there but it was humorous with a heavy dose of hot.   I liked this one a lot.

Review- the Payment Series- Cassandra Carr

payment series

Catrina Carter is in over her head. Way over her head. She’s in debt and, short of bankruptcy, which wouldn’t happen fast enough to pay the creditors nipping at her heels, Catrina has few choices. Eviction is coming any day, and even though she traded in her great car for a “more affordable” model, it’s about to be repossessed too. Catrina goes to Debt Management Associates, or DMA, for help.

The cost for DMA’s help is something she never thought she could pay, but out of options, Catrina agrees to serve a man who pays her debt in full, and begins training in how to please him. Jared. Her new benefactor. He is tasked with helping Catrina get her life back on track, in addition to taking his pleasure with her and ordering her to oblige friends, colleagues, and even total strangers sexually on his whim.

When Catrina leaves the DMA program after her one year term of service, will she be able to keep the lessons Jared literally spanked into her topmost in her mind, or will old habits rear their designer heads?

NOTE: The Payment Series is a serial. They are best read in order and are not really standalone stories.

WARNING: This series contains material some readers might find objectionable. If dark erotica themes bother you, please do not purchase this series.

Diana’s Review

I read this book free for an honest review.   So here it is.  Overall, I love the books.   In fact, I found it difficult to put down.  But it challenged the limits of my tolerances at some points, especially the couple scenes at the biker bar.   Luckily I love a challenge.

I could not imagine what kind of desperation would send me to this organization to get bailed out of severe financial problems.  As I read this story, I could feel Catrina Carter’s desperation.   I could read in the story her acceptance of this voluntary form of punishment and reform.   I also came to believe that for her it was a last ditch desperate move and not necessarily the right move, but  . . . I actually couldn’t think of something else that would help her reign in her spending.   The 3rd of the 3 books Boxed Set is definitely the best.  And much of what I felt from Catrina’s character seemed to be true.   I do not want to provide any kind of spoilers in my review though I am sure there are others who will.

****Please be warned and don’t be stupid**** this book is not for the sensitive soul or the soul that needs a true HEA with flowers and boxes of candy.   There is sexual degradation used as punishment.   Spanking, anal sex, sex with multiple strangers in a public setting.  Don’t buy this book just to turn around and bash the author because you cannot handle the subject matter.    This is my civic conscience speaking to you.   Make no mistake I liked this series.   It brings you in and messes with your emotions and spits you out at the end in a masterful way.

Bottom line. . . I will read more of this author’s books because I like how she tells her story.

#Review ~ Primitive Need ~ Alicia Sparks

Primitive Need

by Alicia Sparks

Diana’s Review:
5 Hearts 3 Flames

First, let me say I read this book free for an honest review.   Second, this is book 2 in a series but I did not need to read book 1 in order to understand what was going on.

I loved the entire world that Alicia Sparks is creating.   All the characters in her book jump out of the pages with personality and three dimensional presence.  The story builds tension at just the right pace as does the relationship between Hadley and Logan.  The story is paranormal with good people, not so bad  people (maybe misguided) Maddux family,  and I suspect the very bad people, haven’t met the very bad yet.   Book 3 promises to be better.  When Kenyon Maddux little sister is causing problems and they need to find her, like now.    I am not even mad that I do not know more about this world.  Because with all good series, they should get better and better as the author builds layers upon layers of awesome to her world.  Oh did I mention the Maddux family are shifters?  I hope that is not a spoiler.

So by my thinking, I have just found another author that I will love to be reading.   That makes me very happy.  My ‘to be read’ list just got a lot longer.

Flames 3

Review – To Be Yours Forever by Elliot Richard Dorfman

Since a child, drama teacher Norma Feinstein, has been infatuated with the 1940s after seeing a musical film made during that era. Her life begins to fall apart when at twenty-three years old she discovers she has the ability to travel back in time. To her shock, Norma learns she was Kathryn Murrow, the budding Hollywood star of “Sky’s The Limit”, the film which began her fascination with the past.

Unable to deal with the pressures of living two lives, one in the present time and one in the 1940’s, Norma seeks help from Dr. Darryl Costner, an eminent psychiatrist interested in reincarnation. Darryl becomes worried that Norma will negatively affect the time continuum when he learns she wants to save her former fiancé Trent Taylor, crooner, and costar of “Sky’s The Limit,” from a so-called accidental death.

With this case becoming too complex for him to handle, Costner gets his friend, Shawn Nolan, a scientist from a governmental agency that has discovered how to time travel, to help him with Norma. Assisted by Gary Hertzman, Costner’s young associate, Shawn takes Norma to his secret lab in Arizona where he searches to find a way to prevent Norma from saving her former lover from sixty-six years ago. If he fails in his task, the very future of the country could be extremely bleak. Will he succeed? The story’s conclusion will captivate the readers of this multilevel novel full of suspense, surprises, and twists.

Diana’s Review

As a stand alone book, I found it light and very easy to read.   An interesting fantasy,  I received this book for a fair and honest review.

The overall theme of this book is that of finding your soul mate and being reborn again and finding each other in another time.  Does it really happen?   Well Norma Feinstein appears to have tapped into one of her previous lives.  Post WWII.   I love the basic story.   It started out slow and I was wondering where the author was going for several chapters.  As I read through the story, I became invested in what the outcome could possibly be.    Would Norma find a way to stop slipping back into her former self?   Would she make the difficult decisions, she is facing throughout the book?

While I was interested in the story, I could not exactly get into the characters quite as well.  Especially Gavin, Norma’s fiancé who seemed far to easy going considering what was happening to Norma.  But maybe that is just me.   The psychiatrists and scientists trying to help Norma, maybe, but again I was not believing the explanation of DARPA, The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.  To me it seems to contrived to be real.   Am I a cynic?  Maybe.   Also, I found her mother’s behavior odd or maybe unrealistic.  I would have liked to feel more personality from everyone.   Norma herself seemed so gullible and accepting of some things, like going away suddenly to Arizona to an isolated secret government agency.   But hey if my mind was transporting me to other time periods maybe I would be a bit muddled as well.

Sex is only eluded to at times, and mostly chaste.   Some kissing, and maybe it would be called heavy petting.   So I am thinking high school age is okay.

So overall, I enjoyed the book for what it was, a quick fantasy read.

Review- Severine- Jaden Sinclair

Diana’s Review

“The year is 9045 and the Nations control almost everything in the universe”  I am such an easy conquest of the futurist worlds created by wonderfully imaginative minds.  Just that first line alone sucked me in.   Then I am introduced to Severine-4597.  I didn’t quite understand why the number was attached to Severine’s name.   Did that mean she was the 4597th kid stolen, broken, and changed into a killer for the Nations?  Because that is what she was a killer.   Very good at her job, until one day and one little girl appeared in her gun’s scope.   You can’t keep such a strong mind locked down.   Severine as a weapon for the Nations had just broken down and they needed to terminate her.   You guessed it.   That did not happen, else why this book title.

Severine is a kick-ass, stone cold killer who now has a reason to kill that makes sense.   Bring in Byron another of the Nations creations.  His skill was as Tracker and he had been able to break away, sort of, from the Nations.   He still did “contract work” for them.  His job, track Severine so she could be brought back and if not reconditioned at least terminated.   So as you might suspect,  Byron and Severine get together in a fight that never seems to end.  A fight to save as many children as they can from their horrible fate.

This world is stark and all you see are the broken and bruised children used by the Nations and a glimpse of the Directors and the irreversibly broken “weapon” of an abusive and powerful group that controls everyone.  You do not see the larger world, possibly because the Nations kill everyone but the children they take from the planets they raid.  And the rest of the planets and their inhabitants remain clueless to all that the Nations are.

As Severine starts to feel the connection she has with Byron, will she act on that?  Acknowledge it at least?  I think that there may be a love story building as well.

I think this series as it develops will continue to interest me and draw me in deeper with each new book.
