Hi Y’all! I want to say a big Thank YOU! Changing Perspectives released with August second mini-release of the Omega Team launch in Desiree Holt’s Kindle World and Y’all have been so wonderful and kept it in the top 100 on KW romances for the last 3 Weeks!
I enjoyed writing this book so much! It was so fun to include Desiree’s characters with mine and weave a story. I love the Omega Team core members and Desiree’s books, and utilizing those characters gave me a great place to jump start Changing Perspectives.
Angelina Montgomery’s biggest worries were graduating her Master’s degree program and finding time for a social life. The voluptuous brunette crooned sweet love songs to the crowds of the Cowboy Saloon every weekend, but hadn’t been on a date in almost a year. When flowers and gifts started arriving at her door from a secret admirer she was initially flattered. But when her car was broken into that inclination changed to fear.
Retired Army Ranger Luiz Hernandez was one of Omega Team’s top agents. His Cuban heritage and scared visage made him the perfect man to infiltrate South American drug cartels. So why the hell were Grey and Athena sending him to babysit a co-ed with a stalker? He didn’t want the assignment, but he would do his duty.
That duty changed when he set eyes on Angelina, and he had a new mission…capture her heart.
Nothing would stand in the way of a Ranger and his goal. Not age, emotional baggage, and certainly not a mad man hiding in the shadows.
Excerpt One Changing Perspectives:
Another knock at the door. Ask and ye shall receive, she thought. She checked the peep hole again and almost fell over. Outside her door stood Braveheart and Antonio Banderas. Holy hell! The one guy had to be six-foot-six with flaming red hair and looked like a brick wall of muscles. The other one was shorter, maybe five-ten or six-foot, his hair shaved on the side and the top pulled back into a sexy pony-tail, his eyes covered in mirrored aviator glasses. Dark, brooding, sexy as hell. Oh, damn! These two hotties were going to be shadowing her 24/7 for god knew how long. She was in trouble with a capital T.
“Miss Montgomery? Are you there?” Braveheart asked.
Shit. She hadn’t opened the door.
“We’re from Omega Team,” he continued.
Angelina flipped the deadbolt and let them in. “Sorry, I was a little shocked when I looked through the peephole,” she stammered. “You’re a bit…large,” she added.
Braveheart laughed. “No worries, it’s good to be cautious. I’m Duncan Flynn,” he said extending his hand. “And this is Luiz Hernandez.” He indicated his partner.
Angelina’s small hand was swallowed up in his, but she shook it firmly, as her dad had taught her.
“Welcome. Come on in. I’ve got coffee made if you’d like some.”
“Sounds great,” Duncan said with a smile. He seemed like a nice man. Luiz had yet to say a word. Angelina headed to the kitchen with the two men following. As she pulled mugs from the cabinet the dark man finally spoke.
“What’s this?” he asked, pointing to the chocolates on the counter. Angelina turned around and put her hands on her hips.
“Another delivery. It came just before you two arrived. There’s a note with it. I didn’t touch it. The delivery man didn’t know if the person who sent it wrote it or if the florist did. I got the number of the florist so we could call and ask.” She picked up the card off the counter and handed it to Luiz.
“I’ll give the number to Jacqui and have her call. She’s better at dealing with people than me.” He growled, pulling the cell phone off his belt and turning toward the door. “I’ll get the print kit out of the car.” He tossed over his shoulder as he marched off.
The front door slammed behind him and Angelina muttered, “Did he get up on the wrong side of the bed or what?”
“Sorry about that,” Duncan said, with a smile. “Luiz is a bit cranky this morning. He’s a good guy, though. I promise. Good at his job.”
“Yeah, well, I’m a bit cranky too, ya know. I’m the one with the creepy stalker.”
Duncan walked over and laid a hand on her shoulder. “I know. Again, I apologize. This isn’t Luiz’s usual gig. He isn’t used to dealing with ‘normal’ people. He usually deals with drug dealers and lowlifes.”
“Oh great. Well, at least I’m a step up.” She laughed. “I hope anyway.”
“Definitely,” Duncan answered.
Luiz came back in the house carrying a small bag. He placed it on the counter next to the box of chocolates and proceeded to pull out print dust, rubber gloves and something that looked like the brush she used to apply her face powder. Angelina watched in fascination as he applied the powder to the box and envelope, then transferred the viable prints to little cards with tape.
“That’s really cool.” She looked at him curiously, “But you know it’s not that bright in here. Couldn’t you see better if you took your glasses off? Or are they prescription?”
Luiz scowled at her. “I can see just fine.”
“Are they prescription glasses? Do you need them to see?”
“Then why are you wearing them inside?”
Another scowl. “I have my reasons.”
Angelina shrugged her shoulders. “You are a strange man, Luiz. You know that?”
“So I’ve been told.”
“Now that you have the prints, what will you do with them?”
“I’ll e-mail them to Jacqui, our computer expert, and she’ll run them through the system. See if we get any hits.”
“You have access to criminal data bases? Like the police?”
“Athena and Jacqui are both former Tampa PD, they still have connections.”
“Who are Athena and Jacqui?”
“Athena is one of the owners of the company. She and Grey Holden run Omega Team. Jacqui is our computer expert.”
“Wow, a woman in command. That’s awesome. And another as a computer expert. I wouldn’t have expected women in your field.”
“They’ve earned their places.”
Angelina nodded. “I’m sure they have.”
“Do you have a computer I can use to send these or do I need to set up ours?”
“My lap top is right over here,” Angelina said, walking into the living room and picking it up.
“Do you have a printer with a scanner?” Luiz asked.
“Yep, it’s wireless. It’s set up in my bedroom. Follow me.” Crap, I didn’t even make my bed this morning. She thought. “Please ignore the mess,” she said as they entered the room. “I wasn’t expecting company in my room.” She shoved her night gown under the pillow and caught a flash of something cross Luiz’s face as the wisp of purple satin slipped out of sight. Was that lust on the harsh warrior’s stoic consul? Hard to tell with those damn glasses covering half his face. But shit, she would be one happy camper if the Latin lothario was interested in more than protecting her. She would certainly like to explore the muscles on his body, one at time…with her tongue.
The man might be gruff and growly, but she liked gruff and growly. Ever since he’d walked in the house, her panties had been wet. She was dying to take those glasses off his face. She wanted to see his eyes. The rest of him had her panting and squeezing her legs together to assuage the ache. All man. Totally alpha. Every inch was sculpted muscle that flexed and bulged with his movements. And that hair! She wanted to take it down from the ponytail and run her fingers through it. Have it slide across her body as he—
“How do you get this machine to scan?” Luiz asked, interrupting her fantasy, just when it was getting good, too.
“Here, I’ll do it,” she said taking over and scanning the cards. Their hands brushed briefly and electric shocks shot up her arm. Did he feel it too?
Luiz stepped back. “I’ll meet you in the living room. We need to discuss our plans.”
“Okay, I’ll be right there.”

Back at Angelina’s apartment, Luiz watched in a combination of amusement and dismay as she raced around closing blinds and curtains. It seemed her earlier bravado had blown away like a leaf in a hurricane. Now a bundle of nervous energy, she flitted about the apartment like a whirling dervish.
Finally, Luiz grabbed hold of her arms as she made to move past him. “Angelina, calm down. The curtains are all closed now. Everything is fine.”
Startled, she looked up at him and melted against his frame like hot chocolate pouring over strawberries. Her arms encircled his waist, her head tucked under his chin with her cheek pressed to his chest. A soft sob reached his ears and the hard shell he kept around his heart cracked.
Picking her up, Luiz carried her to the couch and sat, placing her sideways across his lap. He tipped her chin up with the tip of a finger. Tears flooded her hazel eyes, making the green specks sparkle like tiny emeralds. As the moisture overflowed and slipped down her cheeks, he brushed it away with a thumb.
“Don’t cry, pequeña , it’s all right. I have you.” He knew he shouldn’t. Knew it was wrong, but he was only human. He leaned in and kissed her. He meant it only as comfort, but she tasted so sweet.
Angelina opened for him and his tongue swept into the honeyed innocence of her mouth. Her arms crept around his shoulders, hands sliding into his hair and drawing him closer. A moan from her lips caused an answering groan from Luiz and a shift in position, to accommodate the growing bulge in his pants which the sound elicited.
Luiz’s lips drifted from her lips down her neck. Kissing, licking, biting. Angelina shivered in his arms. “Oh God, Luiz. That feels so good. I’ve wanted you since the moment I saw you.”
He nipped her collar bone, reaching for the tie of her halter dress. “We shouldn’t be doing this…”
“I don’t care. Don’t stop,” she said, pressing the back of his head to keep him in place.
His nimble fingers undid the knot at the back of her neck and the bodice fell to her waist. Golden globes, topped with raspberry nipples spilled free for his exploration. The tempting berries drawing his lips to taste their succulence.
Luiz laid Angelina down on the couch and hovered over her, his warm breath fanning her engorged nipples. “Dios mio, you are hermosa, mi dulce.” he whispered, as he took the peak into his mouth. Angelina arched upwards, her hands pulling his shirt from the waistband of his pants slipping beneath to caress his skin. Enticing sounds of pleasure spurring his passion higher and higher.
“Take this off,” she pleaded, tugging at his shirt. “I want to feel your skin on mine.”
Supporting himself on one arm, he tugged the shirt over his head and tossed it to the floor. Angelina’s restless hands drew harder on his back, pulling him down on top of her. He rested his weight on his elbows, so he wouldn’t crush her, but his chest pressed into the lush curves of her breasts as she rubbed against him like a cat in heat.
