Genre: Paranormal Romance

Book blurb:
There is an on-going war between two breeds of immortal warriors who carry human, vampire, and werewolf blood, the Cynn Cruor and the Scatha Cruor. The Cynn Cruor wants to live in harmony with the human race. The Scatha Cruor wants to enslave them. Finn Qualtrough, a Cynn Cruor warrior is on a mission to find Dac Valerian, the leader of the Scatha Cruor responsible for the deaths of many, including his parents. When he pursues three Scatha warriors who can lead him to Dac, he happens upon a woman who awakens a desire within Quinn to claim her as his own.

She is the very essence of his immortal life.

Eirene Spence is an insomniac and a computer genius who loves walking in the park at midnight. She stumbles upon the Scatha Cruor and is almost killed until a handsome stranger rescues her. His touch ignites a hunger inside her that only he can satisfy.

He is her soul.

By some twist of fate, one of Eirene’s clients is Dac Valerian. She is able to tell Finn and the rest of the Cynn Cruor where Dac is hiding. Now Dac wants her dead.

Will Finn be able to keep Eirene alive and at the same time fulfill his mission? Will Eirene’s wish to be part of Finn’s life come true knowing that he is destined for someone else?

Excerpt:
Finn’s chest constricted with an unfamiliar emotion. The desire to please Eirene and see her happy replaced the need to simply slake his lust. There was a fissure on the wall he had built around his heart, allowing a ray of tenderness for the woman beneath him to shine through. He intensified the kiss and at the same time thrust hard into her. She cried out against his mouth, her breath harsh and staccato like. Finn moved, in and out, swiveling his pelvis against hers. Eirene lifted her hips, her head falling back in ecstasy. She made small sounds every time Finn’s pelvis moved against hers with quick thrusts.

Finn looked down at Eirene’s body, from her breasts and puckered nipples down to her stomach and her trimmed mound. Her entire body was flushed with the aura of intense arousal. He groaned when her channel clamped around his cock. Eirene’s breasts quivered faster and faster as Finn thrust harder and deeper, eliciting deeper moans and cries from her. He leaned over to latch onto Eirene’s exposed neck. He kissed and licked until he gently sucked the skin over her pulse, bringing the vein into sharp relief. He sucked hard without using his fangs.

“Yes!” Eirene turned her head giving him her neck.

The taste of her blood filled Finn’s mind, exploding through his neurons.

Along with her taste came an astounding piece of knowledge.

Eirene was a Cynn Cruor mate.

The question now was whether she was his. His scent needed to be on her when a Cynn Cruor brethren smelled her. It was a scent undetectable by a purely human nose. If he marked her, then whether she accepted it or not, she belonged to him. She was his mate.
The taste of her salty, sweet skin drove him wilder. He knelt on both knees as he covered Eirene’s body with his. Finn held on to her hips, thrusting harder, deeper, and faster. He groaned as his balls tightened, slapping against her backside. Eirene’s cries came in puffs of ecstasy until she screamed her climax. Her weeping sex throbbed and gripped Finn’s manhood in a snug vice, milking him as he went in and out until he growled and finally shouted his release against Eirene’s neck, calling out her name. His seed spurted into her womb, bathing and warming it. His heartbeat pounded inside his ribcage, the warmth of their coupling spreading through him like the fire in a forge. He held himself up over Eirene with both his arms braced beside her head. He was about to withdraw from her when she placed her hands on his hips.

“Please don’t go,” she said softly. “Not yet.”

Finn let his forehead dip against Eirene’s even as she lifted her mouth for a long and sensual kiss. Eirene’s arms crept under his arms and over his back. By the Ancients, he loved the way her hands smoothed over his sweat-slicked skin. He felt her racing heart slowly turn to a semblance of normalcy as his own heartbeat thrummed back to a slower pace.

1376235_172711479588494_381012875_nLove in Her Dreams

Blurb:
Alec and Tamsyn know they are meant to be together though they have never met. And yet their passion for each other consumes them when they dream. Alec knows that Tamsyn is the woman for him, but finding her at the moment is an impossibility. Or is it? After resigning from her job, Tamsyn takes a break in Scotland when she feels the presence of the man who haunts her dreams. He is tangibly near and in Edinburgh. The sex they have in her sleeping moments becomes more real. But how can she find him in the streets of Edinburgh when the only thing she remembers is his touch, his scent, his passion?

Excerpt:
Alec rose above her to look at her face and kiss-swollen mouth. Her chestnut brown hair spread around her. Her sweet breath fanned the flames around them, then he closed his eyes as he shuddered. She held him firmly in her hands and her fingers around his cock were driving him insane. His breath was harsh as he looked down. His cock was painfully stiff and upright above her mound. He groaned as she continued rubbing him before she pushed him gently onto his back. He looked at how her hands perfectly held him. Up and down they went. He was mesmerized, his desire driving him to thrust against the snug ring her hands made. Her nipples were puckered, ripe and beckoned to him to take them again. He cupped them and circled his thumbs against them until she let out a low, throaty moan. Alec looked at her face. Her mouth was parted, her tongue licked her lower lip, her eyes dilated with unspent desire. He placed a thigh between her legs and pulled her hips down against it to rub her. She moaned in delight, as his thigh bathed in her juices. He closed his eyes as he imagined her sweet juices around his cock when he entered her later, bathing him with her need. When she splayed kisses over his stomach, Alec’s pulse raced further. He could feel his cock straining impatiently but she took her time. Then he felt her tongue against the underside of his shaft before she swallowed him. He groaned out his pleasure as his head pressed deeper into the pillow. His hips bucked and he gave in to the sweetness of her mouth. He thought he would go out of his mind when she looked up at him before he felt rather than saw her swirling her tongue inside her mouth against his pulsating rod. Alec held her hair away from her face as he watched her enjoying him. He hissed when she purred and the vibrations thrummed through his sensitive member. She sucked him, alternating between fast and languid, between short and deep throat strokes. Alec’s body trembled. He knew if she didn’t stop he would come. In less than a second Alec lifted her and lay her on the bed.

Leaning on one hand, Alec caressed her hip again before making its way to her wet slit. He looked up and saw her eyes widen and close halfway as she continued to move her hands up and down him. A trickle of pre-cum oozed out of him. Her forefinger swiped at it and brought it up to her mouth at the same time his finger entered her. She moaned and gasped at the same time and lifted her hips against him. She cried out when his thumb encircled her soaked pleasure nub. Then he placed a second finger inside her. Alec needed to taste her. It was one of the things he always looked forward to. He kissed her hard then licked the mole on her hip before he knelt between her thighs.

Her vision and passion are fuelled by her interest and background in history and paradoxically, shaped by growing up in a clan steeped in lore, loyalty, and legend.
Isobelle is intrigued by forces that simmer beneath the surface of these cultures, the hidden passions, unsaid desires, and yearnings unfulfilled.

Blurb:
Sloan and Abbey move to Abbey’s hometown of Mount Vernon, Iowa, to start their new lives together away from the chaos of New York City. And they are not alone – they are joined by Gordon, Maggie, and Bartholomew each looking for a fresh start and new love in the small rural town.
Their marriage is put to the test by the reappearance of Abbey’s father, bullies from her high school days, a business opportunity in Miami, and a new baby on the way. When a person from their past comes back looking to make Abbey his own again, will he be able to tear Sloan and Abbey apart forever?

Excerpt:
For the next few hours, Sloan couldn’t concentrate on his work. He fumed at Aubrey’s unreasonable demand. Who does she think she is, appropriating my time? My time is too valuable to be wasting on new headshots for her books. This is the last series I’m doing for Panda.
A sly smile suddenly broke across Sloan’s face. Unless Abigail wishes to do another one, of course. She’ll work with another illustrator over my dead body.

Sloan stormed into his makeshift office and slammed the door. Instead of taking a bite of the sandwich he had ordered, he strode to the cabinet against the wall and poured himself a tumbler of whiskey. He took a long, hard swallow. The liquor relaxed him.

Relaxing allowed his mind to wander to Abigail. It had been an incredible three weeks in St. Thomas with her. The best three weeks of his life. He wanted nothing more than to be home with her in New York kissing her, whispering to her, gazing into her beautiful hazel eyes, and making love to her. He missed her more than he had ever missed anyone in his life.

At five o’clock, he made his way down the elevator to the park outside. The photographer had just arrived and not even unpacked his equipment. Sloan paced the stone sidewalk impatiently. He growled as the man gazed at him with a helpless look.

Irritated, Sloan glared at his watch then began to pace the stone walk of the garden again. The constant shuffling of the photographer and the click and clamor of equipment grated on his last nerve. He had delayed a critical meeting for this photo. This imbecile photographer had better hurry up. “Can we speed things along?”
The photographer stared at him, flustered. “I’m sorry, sir. I don’t believe we’re ready.”

Sloan’s felt his Irish temper flash dangerously. “Then maybe you can tell me exactly why we are reshooting this picture? Because Aubrey sure as hell wasn’t going to.”
“I’m sorry, sir…”
“Maybe I can shed some light on that.”

Sloan stopped dead at the sound of a soft, feminine voice. His heart thundered in his chest as his breath caught in his throat. It can’t be…

Sloan turned slowly. Behind him, standing at the mouth of the path, stood his Abigail. She was dressed in a fuzzy, baby pink, cashmere sweater and a pair of faded blue jeans with her long, brown hair tied up in a ponytail. She nervously clutched her tablet in her hands.

“Abigail,” Sloan breathed, all his fury evaporating away at the sight of her. She had a way of doing that to him. She smiled at Sloan as she made her way up the stone path to him. He gently caressed her cheek with his fingertips as he gazed at her. “What are you doing here?” he murmured.

“Nathan visited me this morning,”

He snorted in disgust. “About time.”

“Sloan, it’s all too much. You’ve worked too hard.”

Sloan cupped Abbey’s chin with his palm and tilted her face to his. He stared deep into her hazel eyes. “Aye, Abigail. I needed to. You’ve learned my past with the IRA. You’ve learned my marketable talent. I am wanted by some very evil men. I could not leave you without, if something were to happen to me. It very well could.” Sloan curved his mouth into a smirk. “So what did you do that started this chaos?”

Smiling sheepishly, Abbey trailed her finger across the screen to wake it. Then, she turned it to face Sloan.

* * * *

Abbey silently braced herself for Sloan’s reaction. She expected him to be angry that her rash action with the book cover had disrupted his crucial plans for San Francisco’s opening day. Honestly, she expected him to chew her out for what she had done.

She didn’t expect what happened at all.

Sloan’s eyes locked on the tablet screen displaying the new cover of their first book. After a beat, he gently took it from Abbey so that he could take a closer look. “Abigail,” he breathed.

“You’re not upset?” Abbey asked, amazed.

“I should be upset that you finally took my name?”

She felt her face flush red. “I’m here because Aubrey wants to shoot our bio pictures. Together.”

Sloan looked up as he grinned. “That’s a fantastic idea, luv.”

They slowly turned as they heard the photographer clear his throat. “Umm…Mr. O’Riley? I’m ready for the shot,” he announced timidly. Abbey giggled. Sloan must have scared the wits out of this guy.

Sloan weaved his fingers into hers as they walked toward the clearing in the garden where the photographer had assembled his equipment. “Where do you want us?” Sloan queried.

The man’s eyes darted around the patches of flowers and randomly scattered park benches. “I hadn’t really put much thought into it. Maybe you could sit on a bench with Mrs. O’Riley behind you?”

Sloan chuckled. “I have a better idea.” Stepping onto the lush green grass, he led Abbey behind him. He stopped at the trunk of a tall, leafy maple. Leaning his strong shoulders against the trunk, he then tugged Abbey into his arms. She rested her cheek against his warm, broad chest as her body sunk into his hard muscular contours, breathing a deep, contented sigh as she heard the first click of the camera’s shutter.

100_1983Windy City Tour
Chicago IL
September 22, 2013

What a beautiful day it was. There I was driving down the Kennedy Express-in electric mode! Chicago is the only city where as soon as I get near it my hybrid goes into electric. Nope nothing magical! TRAFFIC! Even on Sunday the roads are horrendous!

Despite the hour and a half trip from my parents house it was a beautiful drive. The sky was clear, the sun was shining and I was on my way to Windy City Tour! A book signing in Chicago at the Omni Hotel. A beautiful place for a wonderful event! Coming up you will meet some of the authors later on this year…

OOPS! No spoilers!

I got to meet some wonderful authors and truly enjoyed myself. I found out about Windy City Tour from a friend, Mayas Jarmarla Sanders. I met her and her sisters there. Gossiped with Juevatorj Sanders about Maya’s place 😀 A good time was had by all!

100_1994I met Tara Sivec and Tara’s Tramps! LOL! I don’t even want to repeat some of their stories! But if you ever get a chance to meet her-Go for it! I couldn’t resist getting Chocolate Lovers. 761 pages of sweet stories about Love, Friendship and inappropriate behavior. Really couldn’t resist that! Tara called it her brick. Definitely appropriate!

100_1985Denise Grover Swank was there. Oh my goodness! If you haven’t read her do so! I just finished Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes It is an amusing and entertaining book. I just loved Rose Gardner and her neighbor Joe is oh so sexy! He is such a good neighbor. He helps Rose check off number fifteen on her list! Eventually! I’m going to have to get the next. I can’t wait to read more of Rose! Denise handed over a book bag. She said I looked like my arms were going to break I was so loaded down with books. I asked her to sign it as a giveaway for our blog. So guess what it in the rafflecopter?

100_1988Debra Holland was a sweet and wonderful woman. I spent quite a bit of time talking to her. I just love her Montana Sky Series books! Squee! Sweet entertaining western historical romances with men that are men and the women who will set them straight! I really think I have to share. She is from the suburbs of Chicago so had to travel through the mess too.

Interviewing Tom Conrad ~ You’re gonna love him!

Beverly and Tamara: Welcome to SSLY Tom. Thanks so much for joining us today. So first why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?

Beverly and Tamara, first of all, a big THANKS to you both for having me (at least “having me” in a manner of speaking). Secondly, a little bit about me… well, I’m a Londoner with half-Cockney and half-Irish ancestry. This means I do a mean jig whilst charming eels from the river Thames.
Actually, my father informs me I am NOT a true Cockney – just as it was once again becoming semi-fashionable to be one.

Tamara: *laughing* What do you HAVE to have when you are writing?

Tea.

Beverly: When did you start to write?

Tea-time.

Beverly: *rolls her eyes* Can you describe your favorite character? And which of your books is he/she in? How do you come up with your characters?

My favorite of my characters is Midnight Merlot. He appears in my debut novel Rich Pickings for Ravens. However, I’m here to promote my new novel, and so I’m going to backtrack/lie and say Beatrice Cherry: she appears in That Coxom & Blondage Affair.

Basically, Beatrice is very plucky, quirky and full of charming principles. She’s the kind of girl I’d love to have a pint with, but perhaps not a date. I’d say I based her on various women I’ve met over the years, but heavily exaggerated certain characteristics. Beatrice can be very feisty, a bit bolshie, but basically she’s a sweet, likeable and fun character.

Tamara: What are the hardest scenes for you to write? Suspense? Sex? Dialogue? And why?

I’ll start by saying I find sex scenes easiest to write. I write from the cock, and I guess my todger becomes my barometer of right/wrong. It somewhat leads the way; determining what is hot and what is not, and is possibly the one and only time it’s acceptable for a man to follow “that” part of his anatomy over his head.

The hardest scenes are probably suspense: keeping a reader’s interest right up until that breathless moment of climax can be very, very… hard?

Beverly: *snorts* oops! Sorry, please go on!

Tamara: *shaking her head* Who is you ideal woman, real or fictional?

A hard question, but I’ll take a “real” woman over a “fictional” one anytime. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to meet her. Of course, I am naively optimistic she’s out there. She’d certainly have to have opinions on “stuff”, be witty, feisty, caring, loyal, passionate and open minded. Obviously, a nice rack and peachy bum wouldn’t go amiss either (sorry, any ultra-feminists – I am joking, sort of).

Beverly: LOL! Have you seen the book covers we enjoy? What is the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done? Or would like to? What? We are all about the love!

I’d have to say it happened when I was twenty-one. I’d been dating a much older woman. Let’s call her Jane. Well… I’d been staying at Jane’s apartment when she had two friends visit her. It was midday. No one was drunk; only sunshine poured through the bay windows, which I think made what happened even kinkier for me – the naughtiness of daytime shenanigans and being stone cold sober; enough to fully appreciate every moment. Anyway, her friend’s had been teasing her when I left the room: I heard one of them joke about my age and comment on my little arse. When I came back into the room they all went silent. Jane just looked at me somewhat measured but intense. She was a very confident and open-minded woman – professional, sophisticated and well-off. She told me her friends “fancied” me. One friend was very mumsy with great big heavy tits; a pair I couldn’t stop attempting to catch glimpses of and imagine sucking on. The other who I’d thought was a bit standoff-ish/prim and proper laughed when Jane asked me if I fancied her.

Finally, Jane asked me if I wanted to undress for them. I went blush red, so did her friends, and yet Jane asked again. I knew she was completely serious. I went instantly hard at the thought. Jane could tell I wanted to have their eyes on me, to stand there before them and have them study my body and meat and… and well, you’re probably fed up of this, yes?

Beverly: Well, and did you? Aw, c’mon! *grumbles under breath* We never hear the good stuff!

Tamara: What are your favorite types of heroines? Do you like the damsel in distress who needs saving or the kick-ass variety?

Beatrice Cherry is certainly kick-ass. In fact my character Alice Phoenix, in Rich Pickings for Ravens, is too, although I’m also a realist: sometimes women need saving… sometimes men do too.

Beverly: What was your worst date ever?

My new ebook is about internet dating and I’ve had some shocking dates. I’ll be writing more about my dating experiences soon.

Tamara: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you? (You have food, water, shelter; all the necessities, so nothing mundane.)

My white board. I use it to plot out my stories. In fact, the idea of retreating to an island kind of appeals to me: I’d have peace and quiet and a real chance to finish my trilogy.
My favorite white shirt with little pink Cadillacs on it.
A king-size bed. I’d sleep… a lot.

Tamara: What can we expect for you in 2013?

Always, the unexpected! Also a few more titles: one short story, hopefully two or three novellas concerning dating, and, if my planned trip to South America goes ahead, a romantic and “serious” novel early in 2014. I think the “serious” novel could do great things.

Tamara and Beverly: Okay. We are SSLY so I have to ask. Who loves you?

I’m all out of love. Running on empty, and yet I remain naively optimistic I’ll meet that special gal sometime soon. I hope so anyway!

Now for some quick fun questions:

Bikini’s or thong? I love a woman’s bum in a thong. Big or small… cheeks separated by that slither of material; well, all ladies’ bums look good in a thong.
Coffee or Tea? Tea (I’m English, don’t cha know).
Blonde, brunette or red-head? One of each?
Tits or ass? You may as well ask me water or food.
Chocolate or Vanilla? It’s going over her nipples so I’d say it’s the lady’s choice.
Kinky or Sweet? Sweet turning into kinky, real fast.
Fast or slow? Slow. Slow. Fast. Fast. Sloooow. Fast. FAST… FAST!
Public or private? Private with the public.
Top or bottom? Is this a variation of tits vs. ass?!

Thank you, ladies, for asking such great questions; and for everyone choosing to read and share this interview. Can we make it go viral? 

We’ll do our best Tom! Thank you so much for joining us!

Coxom & Blondage AffairThat Coxom & Blondage Affair
by Tom Conrad

Blurb:
Cox•om [cok-suhm] adjective (of a man) full-cocked.

Blond•age [blon-dij] noun (of a blond) one who likes kinky goings-on.

That Coxom & Blondage Affair follows the picaresque adventures of Frankie Drake as he navigates the precarious world of Internet dating.

In fact, down on his luck Frankie, having been so cruelly betrayed by his past lover: that semicolon bitch, now, in this all new and standalone novel, looks to move on with his little life. Of course, moving on with your little life is far easier said than done, and how exactly do you pull yourself together when you’ve been so cruelly betrayed; especially, by someone you thought you loved.

That Coxom & Blondage Affair an alternative romantic comedy exploring love, lust and the kingly quality of trust!

Please note:

One: this work lightly parodies Fifty Shades of Grey. Fans of “that” book may read these pages/screens through gritted teeth. Of course, you may instead simply appreciate the tongue-in-cheek humour and absolutely love it 😉

Two: also, as intimated above, That Coxom and Blondage Affair heavily references another of my shorter stories: That Semicolon Bitch Had To Die…?!;), and yet this self-contained affair is very much a standalone work, and certainly can be read as an independent story.

Interview ~ Lucy Felthouse

Lucy Felthouse

Beverly and Tamara: Welcome to SSLY, Lucy. Thanks so much for joining us today. So first why don’t you tell us a little about yourself.

Thanks so much for having me. My name is Lucy Felthouse and I’m 28 years old and from Derbyshire, in the UK. I’ve been writing all my life, and have been published since 2008. I also run my own business (http://www.writermarketing.co.uk), doing PR, marketing and web design for authors and small business. I fit my writing in around that.

Tamara: What do you HAVE to have when you are writing?

A drink, usually Diet Pepsi. Music, mostly, and not too much other noise going on around me, which can be pretty difficult. My neighbours are often quite noisy!

Beverly: When did you start to write?

Ever since I could, really. When I was little I used to be surrounded by paper and have a pen in my hand, scribbling madly and declaring that when I grew up I was going to be an author!

Tamara: What do you think are the qualities that make up a “hero”?

If we’re talking fictional romance heroes, then I don’t think there are set qualities. It depends what kind of hero he is, whether he’s alpha, beta, arrogant, a dom, a sub, a geek… the list goes on. If we talking real life heroes, then I would say bravery and self-sacrifice.

Beverly: Can you describe your favorite character? And which of your books is he/she in? How do you come up with your characters?

I’m actually a huge fan of Oliver, who’s the lead male in my latest release, Mean Girls. I really like him because he’s very attractive and has quite a sexy job, but he’s very humble, and harbours a huge crush on Adele. He doesn’t care that she’s a big girl, in fact, he loves it. I come up with my characters in various different ways, but Oliver just came to me because he fitted in with what I wanted the story to be.

Tamara: What are the hardest scenes for you to write? Suspense? Sex? Dialogue? And why?

I haven’t really written much suspense to date, though I definitely want to write romantic suspense at some point. I don’t find specific scenes difficult, I don’t think. It depends on the book, what I’m trying to write, whether I know where the story is going next, and so on. I generally figure it out in the end!

Beverly: What writer, if any, influenced how you write?

Nobody has influenced how I write. I just write in the style that comes naturally. I think the more I’ve worked with effective editors, the better I’ve gotten – hopefully! But I’ve never tried to emulate anyone.

Tamara: Who would you choose as your “book boyfriend”? From what book? Author?

Ooh, that’s a good one. That would be Dimitri, from the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. He’s just so hot! Though if I was allowed more than one, the list would go on for quite some time…

Beverly: What is the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done? Or would like to? What? We are all about the love!

Ha, I write under my own name, so there’s no way I’m telling you that 😉

Tamara: *snickers* What are your favorite types of heroines? Do you like the damsel in distress who needs saving or the kick-ass variety? Why?

Both. It depends on the story. I’m definitely more drawn to strong women, whether I’m reading them or writing them. I don’t think I’ve ever written a damsel in distress. I think in this modern world we’re living in, strong women are more real. Though there is such a thing as a damsel in distress that doesn’t have to be TSTL – Too Stupid To Live. It all depends on the author and how they’ve written it, I guess.

Beverly: What was your worst date ever?

I don’t think I’ve ever really had a bad date. Not awful, anyway. There have been ones where I’ve known that there was no chemistry between myself and the guy, so it’s been kind of pointless, but I’ve never been tempted to climb out of a bathroom window to get away!

Tamara: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you? (you have food, water, shelter, all the necessities, so nothing mundane)

Well, since I have all the necessities, that means I’ve already got my laptop, electricity and Internet access. Excellent. So I would also add my Kindle to that list, along with my dog, and Henry Cavill. You don’t need me to explain why, right? 😉

Beverly: What is your “guilty pleasure”?

Ah, that would be Supernatural. I’m a sucker for those Winchester brothers.

Tamara: Oh yeah. Definitely! What dream or goal have you yet to realize?

Actually, I’m doing pretty well. A couple of years ago I had a bunch of editors and anthologies I wanted to get into, and I achieved all of those. My next one was to get a novel published by the time I was thirty. Well I’ve managed that with a co-author project, and I also have a solo novel coming out towards the end of this year. So I guess my next goal is to actually start making some decent money from my writing. I might be waiting a while…

Beverly: What was you most embarrassing moment?

I’m not easily embarrassed, sorry.

Tamara: If you were a color what would you be and why?

Purple, I suppose. Because it’s my favorite. Nothing deeper than that.

Beverly: Who has influenced how you perceive love? Why?

Myself. Because I know myself better than anyone.

Beverly: How did you get interested in writing about BDSM?

Well, for a long time I steered clear of it. I wasn’t that into reading it or writing it. Then I got more adventurous with my writing and answer a couple of calls for submissions for anthologies which wanted BDSM stories. I got some accepted, figured I must be okay at writing BDSM, then got more interested in it, both reading and writing. Now I enjoy reading and writing it. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities, and you can have real fun with the characters. Not that you can’t in non-BDSM stuff, of course, but, well… you’ll just have to read my stuff and find out 😉

Tamara: Have you ever been to a BDSM club?

Nope. I don’t even know if they have them near where I live!

Beverly: What about that lifestyle interests you?

The people, the action, the nuances. I’m a naturally inquisitive person, so I always like learning about new stuff.

Tamara: Would you say you were a Domme or a submissive?

None, really. I’m pretty boring in real life.

Tamara and Beverly: Okay. We are SSLY so I have to ask. Who loves you?

My other half, my dog and my family, I hope!

Now for some quick fun questions:

Boxers or briefs? Boxers
Coffee or Tea? Neither
Tall, dark and handsome or Blond and buff? Tall, dark and handsome.
Hairy chest or smooth? Depends on the man.
Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate. Unless we’re talking ice cream, in which case vanilla.
Kinky or Sweet? Depends.
Fast or slow? Depends.
Public or private? Both!
Top or bottom? Both!

Adele Blackthorne is a big girl, a curvy chick. She knows it, and she’s been picked on all her life because of it. But she’s gotten to the stage where she doesn’t care. She may be Rubenesque, but she’s healthy, too. Much healthier than the mean girls at the leisure center that point and stare and say spiteful things about her. Adele rises above it all, and simply enjoys her secretive glances at the center’s hunky lifeguard, Oliver.
As the bullying of Adele becomes worse, Oliver finds it increasingly difficult not to intervene. He doesn’t want to get into trouble with work, but equally he can’t stand to see Adele treated in such a horrible way. Especially since he doesn’t agree that she’s fat and unattractive. He thinks she’s a seriously sexy woman, and would like to get to know her better. Much better.

Review- Sugarwater Ranch – Stephanie Berget

17874064
Sean O’Connell’s life is perfect, or it was until his partying lifestyle affected his bull riding. Now he’s ended the season too broke to leave the Northwest for the warm southern rodeos. When a wild night with his buddies gets out of hand, he wakes up naked, staring into the angry eyes of a strange woman. His infallible O’Connell charm gets him nowhere with the dark-haired beauty. It’s obvious she’s not his usual good-time girl, so why can’t he forget her?

Bar-manager Catherine Silvera finds a waterlogged, unconscious cowboy freezing to death in front of the Sugarwater Bar. She saves his life–then runs faster than a jackrabbit with a coyote on its tail. Any man who makes his living rodeoing is bad news, especially if he thinks partying is part of the competition. He’s everything she doesn’t want in a man, so why can’t she shake her attraction to the rugged cowboy?

Tamara’s Review
I will give Sugarwater Ranch a 3 1/2, the sad thing is, in my opinion it had the potential to be a 4/5. I loved the main characters, the Cat and her family, Junior and Uncle Ray were awesome. Sean was a hard character to like in the beginning, a real bad boy and not in a good way. He is a drunk and a reprobate who has alienated his family, but he grows on you as the story progresses.Junior was the highlight of Sugarwater Ranch for me, I just loved his simple sweetness.
What I didn’t like about Sugarwater Ranch was the over obvious “bad guy”. From the first page that he is introduced I knew he was trouble. It completely drew me out of the story. Cat says he makes her feel “creepy” and then befriends him. Why would she do that? I just felt the she and he uncle both acted out of character where Elmer was concerned and I knew what was going to happen long before I should have.
In all, if you can overlook the author’s heavy hand in this one sub-plot, the rest of Sugarwater Ranch was wonderful.
Stephanie did a great job of weaving Cat and Sean’s history into the plot, making the reader understand the “why” behind the choices they have made in their lives. I enjoyed watching Sean “grow up” and come into his own, finally realizing that he was his own worst enemy and turning his life around.
I will definitely keep Stephanie on my watch list to see what she can deliver in the future.

Kim’s Review
I love anything with cowboys in it. This was a sweet love story that showed how life comes full circle at times. Catherine and Sean had met when they were younger and ended up falling in love. It was full of twists and turns that I didn’t expect. I feel in love with Junior, who was a sweet, gentle soul that rounded out the story nicely. I am hoping that it is a series because it would be nice to get together with the characters again. Very pleasant read!
