Review – Love Request- Tara Chevresst

Love Request
by Tara Chevrestt

When Ciara Littleton takes the plunge and finally joins Facebook to socialize without the limits that her hearing impairment gives her, on a whim, she looks up a childhood friend. In sending him that first message, she ignites the memories of a crush from twenty years ago. But can a simple friend request fix all that stands between them and lead to something more?

Hunter has a lot on his plate. A recent divorce, a pregnant sister, and now, he realizes he’s in love with a woman who lives states away. Can he overcome the boundaries of Internet romance to make this desire turn into something real, or will adversity and distance be their undoing–adversity being in the form of his very own sister–the woman who bullied Ciara so mercilessly long ago?

Available at Amazon.

Roxy’s Review:

Nothing is as sweet as a love which transcends barriers of perceived differences, and this is illustrated in Tara Chevrestt’s Love Request. In this emotional read, Ciara reluctantly heeds a friend’s advice and opens a Facebook account so she could join the social scene once again. After all, she ‘d spent the last few years taking care of her terminally ill mother, thus having very little time for any meaningful, romantic relationships. She’s compelled to look up her childhood crush, Hunter, and requests his friendship.

Hunter’s life is presently in turmoil since he’s in the midst of a divorce and his twin sister demands much of his time. However, what happens between Ciara and Hunter gives readers the hope that true love can stand the tests of time and distance.

Chevrestt touches on issues such as bullying, death, divorce, dealing with hearing impairment, love and family relationships. In addition, she depicts Ciara’s point of view so genuinely, I truly believe not even the most insensitive person who reads this story could ever torment, belittle or disregard a differently-able person ever again. For those reasons, I highly recommend this book.

Review – Skin – Lydia Michaels

1175717_460826180691459_1915190663_n
When Finnegan McCullough gets a flat tire he bumps into a woman he’s never seen before. After a stern lecture on trespassing, he offers her a ride and a friendship takes shape. Mallory Fenton is unlike any girl he’s ever met. She’s funny, sexy as hell, and sweet as pie, but she doesn’t see herself that way.

After literally crashing into Finnegan McCullough, Mallory is a hot, tongue-tied,mess. A true lumberjack, he wears his flannel well and possesses the sexiest smile she’s ever had thrown her way. Unfortunately, men like that don’t look at girls like her. When Finn confesses his desire to be more than friends, Mallory is shocked. After years of being the ‘fat girl’ she knows better than to believe a man like Finn could ever find her attractive. But she’s gotten under his skin and Finn is determined to show Mallory how beautiful she truly is.

A realistic and heartwarming romance that proves love and beauty come in all shapes and sizes.

Tamara’s Revieww
Skin is a heartwarming look at beauty through the eyes of love. Have you ever met someone and thought they were okay looking and then you got to know them, and every time you met they became more and more attractive? I have. That is their true beauty shining through. Because beauty really isn’t only Skin deep.
One of the things I loved about this story, was that the hero, Finn, is beautiful all the way to his soul. I hate stereotypes, and there are as many stereotypes for “beautiful” people as there are for us “fat girls”. I have known many women and men who were beautiful both inside and out, many “ugly” people who had beautiful Skins, and even some people who’s ugliness bleed from their souls to become visible to the naked eye. Skin does not perpetuate any of these stereotypes, the characters were real, human. I felt like I knew them. I grew up in Chicago, lots of big Irish families and the McCullough’s made me feel right at home.
There are a lot of underlying messages in Skin. But the one that resonated the most with me was that change can only occur from the mind. You can change your outsides and never see it, if you still see yourself as flawed in your mind. Or you can accept your Skin and change your mindset.
What may surprise you about Skin is that while there are times you definitely need to have the tissues handy, you will also laugh and laugh through your tears (which I love).
I highly recommend this wonderful story of beauty and love.

A note from Gray Dixon ~ Master King ~ Character Interview ~ Review

Banner Masters of Tabu Whips and Chains
AUGUST 31st ~ Master King

Thanks for having me today. This is my last stop on the Master King Spotlight Virtual Tour. The lovely ladies of SSLY have asked me to tell a little about how the Masters of Tabu came about. So here goes.

I was in the middle of writing another story, totally not in this sub-genre, on a nice Fall Sunday afternoon. For some unknown, and I really mean this, the entire series came to me. Within hours, I had written a mini-synopsis for each of the main characters—their names, the women (or in one case, another man), location, everything. The plots obviously needed a little tweaking and plot changes, but as I’ve started writing them, they’ve evolved into what they are now. Currently, there are three released—Master Knight, Master Prince, and Master King which I’m spotlighting here. I’m currently writing Master Marshal and will be released in November. The other three will release next year.

I’m thoroughly enjoying writing these characters and who knows? Maybe I’ll keep them going.

Enjoy this character interview I did with Master King, followed by an excerpt. There’s information about the giveaway at the end. Today’s the last day to enter, so don’t forget to leave a comment!

Master KingCharacter Interview – Master King
Author: Gray Dixon
Name of Book: Master King
Series (if applicable): Masters of Tabu
Genre: Contemporary Erotica, BDSM
Character Name: Jared King
Hero/Heroine/villain/secondary: Bailey Melchor, childhood friend, lover, submissive, and entrepreneur
*~*~*
GRAY: Hey, Jared. I’m so happy you decided to do this interview and share with the readers.
JARED: My pleasure, sugar. It’s the least I could do for my favorite word master. (An eyebrow shoots up and the corners of his mouth turn up revealing a wicked grin.)
GRAY: *blushes* Oh my, Jared, you’re so bad. I hope I’m the only one who spins words for you. Can we change the subject and you tell us a little about yourself. How did you come to my attention?
JARED: If I remember correctly, you came to me. You wanted to bring to life a childhood friendship that blooms into a love interest when the boy and girl grow-up. I like that. Sweet, romantic and terribly sexy. You did me proud.
GRAY: Oh, yes, I remember reflecting back on something similar to me. I’m proud of you too. Tell us more. What do you do for a living?
JARED: I’m a businessman, sort of. I technically have a position at King Oil, head of acquisitions, but my older brother and father run the company. I’m considered not worthy by my family, a black eye on the King name, but I have other plans. Of course, my favorite endeavor is Club Tabu which I co-own with my friends. I understand the readers have already met two, Master Knight and Master Prince.
GRAY: Yes, they’ve made an entrance. What or who is the greatest love of your life and why?
JARED: Need you ask? My Little Bee has a loving, caring heart, yet at the same time she can be strong-willed and determined. She has her own business and with my help behind the scenes will become a big success. Pleasing her is my passion, my love, my heart which defines my life now. I wandered through my life before not knowing what I wanted, but in the end I discovered what I needed was a woman who complimented me and enjoyed the whips and chains that excite as much as I do. Someone who claimed me years ago, but I was too blind to see. Bailey is my soul mate.
GRAY: *shivers run down the spine* Oh, she must be a real treasure. With that being said, what’s your greatest fear?
JARED: Losing her, of course. Enough said. Next question.
GRAY: Okay then. Do you have a motto in life?
JARED: Not really, but I have a code I try to live by. It’s play safe, sane and always with mutual consent.
GRAY: I agree those are good words to live by in any lifestyle choice. Switching up a bit here, how do the other characters in your debut view you?
JARED: We get along great. We may have a few disagreements now and then, but I’ve known the guys since college and a couple longer. Mitchell Prince works for Knight Enterprises as the chief counsel. Brock Dragon only appears briefly in my story. You’ll get to meet him next year, as well as the others making cameo appearances throughout the series. I guess it all depends on you, sugar.
GRAY: Yes, it does. You bad boys better behave or I’ll give you some of my own version of bondage and discipline. *winks*
JARED: I wouldn’t do that, sugar. Topping from the bottom is something I don’t tolerate. Manipulation by any sub will quickly meet with discipline. Let’s just get back to the questions, shall we?
GRAY: *swallows hard* Yes, Sir. What do you prefer? To spread and hear gossip, or be the creator of gossip fodder?
JARED: Neither. I’m a straight-shooter. I unfortunately trust too much and take what people tell me as the truth. I’ve learned the hard way not believing the ones I love. Gossip doesn’t benefit anyone. Communication, and I mean honest, true exchange of opinions and feelings, is vital in any relationship whether business or personal.
GRAY: I so agree, Sir. What is it about you that will draw readers in?
JARED: My good looks and charming personality, of course. *Grins* If you were to ask Bailey, she’d probably say I make her shiver with my green-eyed look or my deep, commanding voice. Of course, I think the way you write me with a tender heart also is appealing. The readers would enjoy that. Don’t you? *winks again*
GRAY: *blushes* Alrighty then, I think it’s time to shift gears and ask random, innocuous questions.
JARED: Fire away, sugar.
GRAY: If you were a color, what color would you be and why?
JARED: Black, but I do like the occasional splash of color, like a bright white T-shirt. Why? Because I like basic color. They are a blank canvas for my tanned skin and green eyes. *Leans back in chair, crosses arms over his chest and the corners of his mouth turn up in a wicked grin* Don’t you agree?
GRAY: *clears throat* Um, I’m supposed to ask the questions, Sir. I think we need to move on. I think I’ll stick with a few lightning speed questions instead. Are you ready?
JARED: Sugar, I’m always ready, are you?
GRAY: *sighs* Okay. Blondes, Redheads, or Brunettes?
JARED: I love all women, but I prefer brunettes, especially the color of Bailey’s. Long and straight and easy to wrap my fist in.
GRAY: (trying to stay composed) Boxers or Briefs?
JARED: Commando all the way baby, but I’ll occasionally wear boxers if I have a formal affair to attend.
GRAY: (quickly losing composure with that image) Chocolate, Strawberry or Vanilla?
JARED: Those are the only choices? Not fair. If I have to choose, I’ll go with chocolate. Maybe a little whipped cream.
GRAY: A cherry on top too?
JARED: Well now, sugar. I can’t tell you everything. I need some mystery.
GRAY: (mouth still agape) Oh, I…I thought you were, oh never mind. Next one. Soft and Sweet or Up Against the Wall?
JARED: You’re really asking me that? Seriously? Up against the wall…or restrained on the cross with legs spread. Or, maybe bent over my knee. I’d add a blindfold and—
GRAY: Oh, please stop, Sir. This isn’t going well. I’m losing control. Let’s just end the interview with a thank you to Master King for sharing some interesting information for the readers. I know how busy you are and look forward to reading more about you and Bailey in the future.
JARED: My pleasure, sugar. I hope I brought you and the readers a little pleasure today. I always strive to do just that. A little pain combined with the right kind of pleasure is always a good thing.

Now what?

Bailey Melchor is a boutique owner and daddy’s little girl, except she wants to succeed on her own, not using his money. She’s had one true love, but she can’t stand him. Their one-time hookup turned into a disaster twelve years ago. They meet again at a friend’s wedding, but after too many glasses of champagne, they wake up in bed together. Not Dallas, but Vegas.

Enjoy this Naughty Excerpt from Master King:
He spanked her again, over the same spot, which now was a pretty shade of pink. Bailey whimpered, but there was an undertone of lust in her voice. The tiny mewls made his dick harden.
“Do you believe in second chances, Bee?” he whispered, as he passed his palm over her mound. She felt bare beneath the thin fabric.
“Depends, I guess. I’d like to think everyone deserves at least one, but life can fool us into thinking it can happen.”
He pushed the slender part of the thong aside and eased a finger between her moistened pussy lips. She was soft to the touch and very wet. He wondered if she really was turned on by his rough handling and anticipated exploring the issue. Her moan echoed off the walls. The thought of how his tongue would push inside her, eagerly tasting and savoring her essence, nearly made him come.
Pressing two fingers into her pussy, her body answered, her inner tissues squeezing him. He added a third, stretching her more. His cock pressed like a hard, steel rod against the leather of his pants.
“We’re virtual strangers, Bailey. We may have had sex once before, but too many years have slipped by to say we know one another in an intimate way. Since no one will ever know what happens here, do you want to see where this will take us?”
“Yes,” she panted her response.
“That’s my good girl. Then consider this our second chance.” Pumping his fingers inside her a few times, he felt her shiver with each move. With his thumb, he circled her clit, and she cried out in pleasure. He paused and shook his head slightly. His body continued to feel strange, almost like he’d been drugged, but he brushed the crazy thoughts aside in favor of believing it was her intoxicating power over him. He had to get her out of there and somewhere more private. “Turn around.”
She lowered her arms and did as he asked which pleased him with her immediate compliance.
He cradled her chin between his thumb and forefinger, and she lifted her eyes to meet his. “As much as I’d like to hear you scream and beg for my cock, Bailey, I won’t do that to you here. This isn’t you, and I won’t subject you to my world without discussing this further. Do you want to go to my place or yours?”
His cock wasn’t relaxed, and he had to have her without scaring the shit out of her like their last time. His arousal grew by the second waiting for her to respond. He leaned forward to enjoy her scent which only served to heighten the increasing pain in his groin with the hardening erection.
She stared up at him mutely then her body went limp as he held her in his embrace. She grinned and spoke in a whisper. “I don’t care. Anywhere is fine, as long as I am with you. Surprise me.”

Tamara’s Review
master King was a very unusual BDSM novel. Jared King has a Dom persona in the eyes of strangers, but to his family, he is the black sheep. Always berated, never good enough. You would think as a Dom he wouldn’t put up with that, But Jared never stands up to his family for himself. However, for his Bailey, he would tell them all to go to hell.
I loved the fact that this Master had a few chinks in his armor. But, for someone who should know the value of communication, his failure to communicate with the one he loves drove me nuts.
And Bailey cracked me up! I spitfire of an independent women, who discovers (much to her chagrin) that she likes to give up control in the bedroom. Her internal dialogue was hilarious.
As with all of the Club Tabu novels, Master King combines the heat and eroticism of the BDSM world with a heartfelt story of love and discovery.

Finn York had a bad experience with werewolves. Marked emotionally and physically from the experience, his aversion causes him to fight the attraction he feels for the female werewolf he meets at Wulf’s Den. Yet her scent draws him with the irresistible power of a werewolf’s mating instinct.

Jocelyn works as a waitress at Wulf’s Den. She’d noticed Finn months before but the sudden changes in him confuse her. When she serves him drinks one night he growls and sniffs the air as if he can smell her arousal and Jocelyn’s confusion escalates. But her interest in Finn heightens and she plots a way to force him to overlook his disgust to claim her as his mate.

Cara’s Review

I am really loving this Wulf Den series. I hate to know that I am almost done with it. They just keep on getting more and more exciting. The sex scenes are hot and makes me wish for my own wolf. (Paragraph) Finn has hated wolves since he was kidnapped three months ago. It really bugs him that his sister is now one of them. He goes to Wulf Den every night which I think is crazy since he doesn’t like wolves. Only problem is, is that he now has some wolf in him since his kidnapping. Things start getting really hot when he finds his mate Jocelyn. (Paragraph) Jocelyn knows that Finn is a mortal but her in the last several months she scents some wolf in him. When she realizes she is his mate she will do what she has to, to get him to admit it. Good thing she has Billie, Finn’s sister on her side. (Paragraph) There is just something about a good shifter story that just drags you in and you just want to keep going. You hate when you reach the last page or you know that the series is over. Makes you have withdrawals. I love books that I just get so into that I feel like I am there in the book experiencing everything. That is what I do when I read books by this author. I can’t wait to read her books.hearts 4Heart half1Flames 4

Review – Seducing the Wolf – Marissa Chenery

Billie first met Royce at Wulf’s Den while there to drag her drunken brother home to his wife. Even though she knows he is attracted to her, Royce refuses to see her again. With four older brothers, and being a personal trainer at her family’s gym, Billie is not the type of woman to let a man she wants slip through her fingers.

Royce knows Billie is his mate, but with her being a mortal, he fights the attraction he feels for her. He already lost a mate who wasn’t a werewolf and doesn’t want to take the chance of getting hurt again.

As Royce’s feelings grow for Billie another male werewolf stalks Royce. Thinking Royce’s blood is the key to a magic spell, he will do anything to obtain it, even if he has to use Billie to get it.

Cara’s Review
I couldn’t wait to read this book when I found out it was about Royce. It is about time that he gets another mate after everything that he has been through. I can understand why he fights Bille and the mating at every turn. Only thing is he knows that there is nothing he can do. Once you find your mate you don’t have a moments peace until you mate with them.
Billie feels the connection the first time she see’s Royce and she takes fate into her own hands and doesn’t let Royce get away. She can’t understand why he runs hot and cold. Once she finds out what Royce is she takes it pretty good. (Paragraph) I am really loving the Wulf Den series and each one has a special place in my heart. Makes me wish that I had my own wolf so I could experience this for myself. Now that is what every woman dreams of. I can’t wait to read the next book to see what happens next.

Review- Taryn’s Wolf – Marissa Chenery

Having inherited her uncle’s winery, Taryn Davies goes to Wulf’s Den hoping to sell her wines to Beowulf, the owner. While there, she meets Wade, Beowulf’s brother. Even though she is instantly attracted to him, her past makes it hard for her to accept his advances.

Catching a whiff of Taryn’s lingering scent inside Wulf’s Den, Wade is determined to make her his. But when their first meeting doesn’t go as he would have liked, Wade follows Taryn to her winery, The Pines.

As Wade tries to win Taryn over, he has to find a way to explain that he is a werewolf. Little does he know another werewolf has Taryn in his sights, one who means her no good.

Cara’s Review
I loved the first book in this series so I had to read the next one. I wasn’t at all disappointed and it made me fall in love with the characters even more.
Taryn has a past that she can’t remember that much but she knows that she loved her uncle and wants to make the vineyard that he left her flourish. So she goes to the Wulf Den to see Beowulf about selling some of her wine. That was all she was after. She didn’t know that she was the mate fo Beowulf’s brother Wade.
Seems that Wade didn’t take the advice that he gave his brother about his mate. It ends up getting him a bloody nose and a hurting crotch. There is just something about these wolves that you love and can’t get enough of. Iph) I like the mystery of this book and the love that Wade and Taryn have with each other. It got my so excited when I found out about Taryn’s past. Just knowing that it brought more wolves together. Glad to see that we found out even more things that Roxie can do. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series

Review – Love’s Last Chance- Jean Joachim

Review
0ddead94-858f-4a8e-97e1-4a1f40842142

Dorrie Rodgers left three men behind in New York when she moved to L.A. to dance the lead in a movie. Engagement to a powerful producer made her life complete. But an accident ended both her career and her impending marriage.
After three years of struggling along teaching yoga, Dorrie is hired to choreograph a movie. Wanting to share her joy at this fabulous chance to resurrect her career, she is determined to end her single status.
Questioning her decision to leave each of three men in New York, Dorrie returns to the Big Apple for one more day with each. Was she hasty in her decisions to leave them behind? Will one of these men make her change her mind? Will her return to the past bring the love she is seeking or will loneliness propel her back into the arms of the one man who broke her heart?

Allyson’s Review
This was another great read by Jean Joachim. This was Dorrie’ s Story. Dorrie loved dancing, her compassion and dedication showed that, I admired how she remained true to herself and didn’t want to settle for less than she deserved. But as far as her love life was concerned, I wanted to shake her several times because she had a hard time seeing what was right in front of her. But truthfully I think that was insecurities talking.
Gunther was back as Dorrie’ s producer, also her ex. I didn’t really like Gunther in this book either. But we did get to see a little bit of a nicer Gunther occasionally, not just the money hungry, powerful ass he portrays to be most of the time.
I absolutely loved Johnny, he was protective, loyal, stubborn, fun, charming, caring, passionate, strong. The chemistry between Johnny and Dorrie was through the roof, but they had a past.
Archie was older but very charming, respectful and obviously adored Dorrie. Archie and Dorrie also had a past but nothing more than friends.
Rick was a smooth-talker and very charming. The chemistry and sex between Rick and Dorrie had always been excellent but their past ended on a unfriendly note.
I was completely lost in Dorrie’ s love Story! I just couldn’t put the book down. I had to know how it was going to end! I highly recommend this book!
